1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Web browsing and gaming (Diablo 3, League of Legends)

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
Around $500, tax not included.

3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
Boston, MA, USA. A microcenter is close by.

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
I am looking to build just the computer so no monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers are necessary.
I have the hard drive, dvd-drive as well as a copy of windows 7 64 bit.
I will need the case, cpu, gpu, ram, mobo, and psu.

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
Sata HDD, Pata dvd-drive (but if mobo doesn't have pata thats fine).

6) Will you be overclocking?
Nope.

7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
1680x1050

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
As soon as possible or as least when Diablo 3 comes out, May 15.

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? UEFI? etc.
As minimal as possible, considering I am building for someone who is not tech savy.

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
Yes, Windows 7 64bit

Looking to buy the cpu and mobo as a combo at Microcenter. A intel would be too expensive (2500k + a low mobo about 179.99 + 39.99 after $50 off, http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0375352). Not knowledgeable with AMD so what might be a good AM3+ cpu / mobo combo for AMD?

Also what GPU would be sufficient to play Diablo 3?

Thank you!

Don't bother with AMD CPUs. They're simply not as fast as Intel CPUs for the money.

So you have roughly $265 left in the budget after the CPU and mobo. So here's what I recommend for the rest:
$20 - G.Skill F3-10666CL9S-2GBNT 4GB DDR3 1333 RAM
$140 - PowerColor AX6850 1GBD5-DH Radeon HD 6850 1GB PCI-E Video Card
$53 - Antec NEO ECO 400C 400W PSU
$50 - NZXT Source 210 Elite White with Black Front Trim ATX Case
---
Total: $263 shipped.

That GPU should be ok for Diablo 3.

Thanks Danny Bui! Will 400W psu be enough with just that gpu, mouse, keyboard, and a usb wireless adapter? If so thank a lot!

Motherboard ($150): MSI Z77A-GD55 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
Power Supply ($56 AR): SILVERSTONE ST50F-ES 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply
Memory ($30): G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory
Video Card ($195): ECS Black Series NBGTX560-1GPI-F GeForce GTX 560 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 (or you can go with the GTX 560 eVGA superclocked version)
Case listed above ($50): NZXT Source 210 Elite
$488.56 shipped. Should get you a better value and upgrade path then what was suggested above. You could also go with 8GB of RAM with this build or swap out the GTX 560 for a cheaper GPU and still be under $500 or around $500 shipped.
