DEAL DEAD

Just got this in my email! The cheap yet much loved Monoprice 8320 IEMs are on sale right now for under $6 plus shipping. The 8320 give you remarkably decent sound for the normal price of $7 and change... knock another dollar off that for this sale and it's a no brainer. Run, don't walk! I plan to buy my limit of 4.

The infamous Head-Fi thread for some light reading...

NOTE: While the stock tips get the job done they definitely aren't the most comfortable - at some point you will find yourself wanting better tips and I highly recommend investing in a set of Sony Hybrids which can be had on Amazon for like $7 or so.

These are earbuds for those who don't know all of Monoprice model numbers.

I got a pair of these last week just to check them out for around ~$9 shipped.

They are unbelievably good. I have never owned an IEM that sound this good for this cheap. Almost on par with my Westone 2 in terms of enjoyment. The only thing that sucks about these is comfort. The drivers are ENORMOUS, which is probably why they sound really good, but comfort may very much be YMMV.

I'll repeat my assessment from the other Monoprice thread:

These IEMs sound really good for the money I paid. I was really struck by the clarity of them. I could hear every note, every beat, and even things I had never heard before. By my estimate, they sound at least as good as the Koss KSC-75s that I migrated from (honestly, they sound better due to the clarity and bass). The build quality of them is great as well. They definitely feel more solidly built than the 75s.

I see them for $5.98 prior to shipping. The OP says they are under $6 prior to shipping.

Oh I read the under $6 plus shipping as plus the shipping its under $6 :D Oh well. I was hoping I could drop off what I have left in my paypal. Someone could send me $1.50 :D

Thanks for the heads up. I figure I'll give these a try after being satisfied with their 8323 headphones.

Thanks OP... I was just telling a friend to pick up a pair of these after several other pairs had failed them. Got myself a set too for backup.

I love monoprice, everything I've bought from them has been great. From TV wall mounts to headphones they make good cheap stuff.

I'll have to check these out. Usually earbuds don't work well w/ my ears, but the reviews look good.

In for 4, would buy more but that's the limit. My 2nd pair of Zune Premium In Ear buds recently went bad so this looks like a good replacement.

You'll want to pick up replacement ear tips is what I can tell from all the reviews and the head-fi thread about them.

In for 2. Never heard of this brand but I love this kind and the 48" cord sold me - usually they are 36" at the most and I'm a very tall guy so thats rarely enough.

Monoprice is awesome! If you're a california resident they even have Norco overnight service for almost the same price as the standard or even less

No he didn't. He edited the post to say that.
The only info in the original post was Monoprice 8320, price and a link.

I wanted to get the initial post up as fast as possible - the pertinent info was edited in less than one minute after the original post. If you had just waited a damned second, lol...

I'm In for one (and some other crap) Thanks for the awesome site too. They have some cheap stuff

Nevada is the same. Norco or Overnite Express are usually cheaper than USPS or ground at Monoprice and I get the stuff next day.

Monoprice Rocks!

I'm in for one. My gym IEM's died (Skullcandy FMJ's) and I had them warranted by Skullcandy. Whole process took about a week (from RMA to get my new ones after $70 coupon). Excellent experience, but these seem to blow them away for the price and performance (if all the reviews are right). We'll see when I get them of course. Probably going to dump those new ones on Ebay.

One of the IEM comparison threads at head-fi.org has these rated around 7.5 out of 10 for sound quality. In comparison, some "brand name" $100-$200 headphones are also rated around 7 or 8 out of 10 and the SC FMJ's are roughly 3.6/10. No brainer.

I also have a pair of MEE M6's which I love for running because they stay put. Those are rated at 5.6/10, so we'll see if these knock those off.

For those who most likely want to upgrade the tips on these, I'd try and get in on a sale of Comply tips. I got a set for cheap a while back and have been using them on all my phones (if they're too loose to fit perfectly, use double-sided tape). Noise isolation, sound quality, and comfort goes up with these.

Anyone know how these compare to JBuds?

Was gonna grab a pair for running specifically because they isolate less than other IEMs but some of the comments on fit and comfort in that HiFi thread turned me off... The cord would probably be a disaster for running too. Guess ill stick to the JVC Marshmallows I've been using until I upgrade my MEElec M9P and shift those over to my running pair.

Definitely seems like a terrific value if you've got larger ears and/or aren't gonna be moving around a lot with them tho. The sound rankings in that thread are subjective, as most things of that nature, but they're pretty fair as far as segregating certain tiers of headphones from each other IMO (which has little to do with cost much of the time).

Could always use some other tips on them...your MEElec M9P came with a bajillion of them. :D

In for a pair ! needed some new stuff for work and my KC 75's are getting beat up after 4 years of use + I needed an HDMI cable anyway.

thanks

Yeah, the single flanges would work fine. I've also got an extra pair of foam tips from the Koss... That wouldn't solve the cord/large housing issues tho. Altho I've got pretty big ears, so I think they'd fit alright with the cable going over my ears.

I ordered sum of these last week. They sounded ok not as amazing as people said. They also do not seem to fit very well...very loose..

Well, I decided to bite on the deal. I told a coworker about it and he also bought it. We combined our deals for cheaper shipping.

I'll keep the replacement ear tips/buds in mind.

The stock tips aren't horrid, but they aren't great either. I highly recommend a set of replacement tips, my favorite being the Sony Hybrid tip set.

This. The Sony Hybrid tips made a dramatic difference in sound and comfort for me. They make the value of these go up so much more personally. I almost want to buy a shit ton of these just to give them away as gifts since they are ridiculously better than stock headphones that come from Apple and other brands.

That's not saying much tho, there's dozens of $10-$20 IEMs you could say the same of... And the 8320 are more like $15 after shipping and replament tips. Not knocking them, just saying, if the fit isn't great for someone there's still plenty of decent budget options. These seem to be some of the best sounding amongst those but not necessarily the best fitting or most user friendly.

I'm still tempted to grab a pair but I mostly use my IEMs while I'm moving a lot or in situations where I need a mic, hrm.

Oh ya I agree, I just don't have many IEM's I've listened to for a comparison. I have listened to Monster Turbines a few times and I think you could make an argument on these 8320s stacking up pretty nicely against them. Even then I haven't done a head to head with them so it's hard to really say. I bought 3 pairs for 21$ a few weeks ago and replaced all the tips on em so it came out around $9 each.

ahh shit, i gave in and bought a pair. i need to stay away from this section :p
