I was finally able to pin down the exact reason I prefer CoD:MW3(BO) over BF(3) for "competitive" matches this weekend.
First of all, the one weekend I had the time and was really in the mood to give BF3 a good spin, I ended up frying one of my 6850's...I know boo-hoo. Anyhow, I really did enjoy my time playing the game...the graphics/atmosphere/ambience of this game are STELLAR. I will be the first to admit that it is more "engrossing" than say, a game like MW3 or Black Ops.
However, as much as I actually enjoyed the actual matches I played, I couldn't help but notice that when bringing down an enemy it just lacked a certain feeling of...satisfaction? I pinned it down to one little simple thing. I'm not sure what the technical term for it is, but when I'm shooting at, and actually hitting someone in the CoD series it makes this "fip, fip, fip" sound when you're hitting your enemy. I guess it's similar to the old QIII "chirp". It just adds that much more to the actual feeling of the game. Is this just me?
I am definitely going to be playing more BF3 as soon as I can order another 6850, but for now I guess I'll be stuck with Black Ops and MW3...they both run 90+ fps with just one 6850...BF3 is a freakin' slide show with eye-candy on and quite frankly the graphics are one of the reasons I actually enjoyed playing the game.
Just throwin' this out there.
