Amazon DD sale is ridiculous! 150 games on sale!

Until the 15th according to the link. Though the THQ games might only be on sale until Monday since they were Amazon's weekly deal.

Steam set the bar high and it's great to see Amazon competing (and very well in some cases). Competition is great for us consumers, which is why I don't hate Origin when it seems like almost everyone else does.

If I buy a a few copies of Crysis 2, can I give the codes out to people as gifts so they can activate them in their own Origin accounts? I don't see why not but doesn't hurt to ask before I buy. I'd like to give some games out to people in my little CoD4 clan just for the heck of it.

Agreed. Origin needs some serious work, but at least for the most part it works and EA at least likes to appear like it's working hard to iron out problems.

I recall an episode where Steam had banned a bunch of USA folks who bought keys from overseas.

It's easy for them to differentiate between Retail, digital & overseas.

That was for MW2 and they didn't ban anyone. They removed the game from people's accounts at the demand of Activision. So far that is the only time it's ever happened.

I paid the same but didn't get nearly that much gameplay out of it. It is a fun game but honestly I regret paying $25 for it. $15 would have been better.
 
Sr3 is a great game, la noire is worth $5 too. I couldn't play either game without a controller tho so I ended up getting a wired 360stick, best money I ever spent since most of these console ports play better with a controller

I could never stand playing SR3 with a controller. No way in hell.
 
Anyone bite on Darkness 2 yet? From what I've read the devs actually listened to the community and included a FOV slider in the latest patch

Saint Row the Third with KB/M is terrific! I have a XBOX 360 wired and I prefer the KB/M. Bought LA Noire this morning so no idea how easy it is to play with KB/M.
 
Also bought GTA4 on Steam and works fine in Win 7 64bit. Just need to deal with Games for Windows to get GTA 4 to run...man I hope the next GTA does not have GFWL :rolleyes:

Well you are right it seems. Got the game "Pirates of the Black Cove" and it doesn't activate on Steam. I believe you deserve an apology. But honestly word of mouth and that list is the only thing we have to go by if trying to buy games that activate on Steam.

Picked up the Darkness II... the first one was great even though it was console only. Thought the demo for II wasn't bad... Installing now.
 
I just looked at the e-mail for this sale and all I can say is wow! If only every digital distribution platform was as user-friendly...

yeah, though not a stellar deal in my case because i already own ARMA 2 and just wanted OA. i loved ARMA 1 but couldn't get into ARMA 2, probably because it ran like ass on my old rig. i'm ready to give it another shot and figured i'd try out OA. i expect it to still run like ass, but hopefully less ass.

You've got a strong CPU so you should be fine. OA has a lot of improvements over ArmA2 in terms of performance, a few more eye candy options, etc.

I wouldn't worry too much about the already having ArmA2 thing. Even when OA first came out they practically gave it away for free (CO was like $10 over OA or something) and I've actually seen it literally for free before. I'm not sure what the playerbase is for stock A2 these days, but since they released ArmA2 Free it seems like there are a lot more n00bs playing A2 and the serious folk are almost entirely playing OA/CO. ArmA2 is good to have so you can do CO, that's about it.
