World of Tanks MMO

Yeah, SOP for me is to transfer 100% crew to next tank which drops them to 90%. I then spend $20k per crew member to retrain them. As per above I did spend the 100g (half off sale) per crew member to retrain them to 100% a few times.

I haven't looked and don't know for certain, but I've wondered if their medals, etc. add something like a +0.0000001 skill modifier per medal.

According to the devs, the medals are purely "achievements", nothing more (from what I've read). Yeah, the only time I spent gold on crew training was when I moved my crew to the T30.

I am using the hitbox skins from www.koreanrandom.com, download here http://www.koreanrandom.com/forum/files/file/3-cvetnie-shkurki-s-zonami-probitija/ just click the Depositfiles download link.

What I am really looking for is the mod that makes damage numbers appear. I used to have it installed and then the patch hosed it. Couldn't remember where I downloaded it. It showed a list of how much damage I took per hit. It also had the WoW-ish like floating numbers above the target when they took damage.

This was really helpful in spotting which tank others are shooting at so you can concentrate fire.

EDIT: It finally annoyed me enough that I didn't have the mods I used to have that I looked them up:
OverTargetMarkers
OverCross
Damage Panel
also using Aslain Icon Contour Mod and Russian, German, English, Chinese voice overs from http://gosu-wot.com/voice/

So it allows you to change the language for everyone or just each country?? For example German when in a German tank, Russian in a Russian tank????

As I discovered it's a bit of a fail, it changes all voices. It appears that the devs didn't think this through and you cannot have Russian voices for Russian tanks and German voices for German tanks. The sound file only has one set of voices, pick your language. :(

Yup, I use Smiggetti UI + OverTargetMarkers. Very useful stuff.

I might have to get into some of the modding on this game. I enjoy it from time to time, but I don't play enough to know all the hit boxes for all the tanks.

7.2 is out today -

2 new maps
new crew skills
T30 > T110 (+keep T30 as TD)
T34 > M103 (+ keep T34 as Premium)
US TD turrreted TD line added

Playing this game with dumb pubbies, I've lost faith in humanity multiple times, Homerr should know that feeling!

Anyone playing this post 7.4 patch? I just reinstalled after several months of not playing and I'm enjoying it again.

Also, is there a [H] clan?

I haven't. I'll have to ask my brother what the changes are. I tend to pay for gold once every couple of months and play it for a few weeks.

The zero damage bug hasn't been fixed. Expect your crew men to get killed a lot too with HE changes. Patch 7.4 is not one of their better ones IMO.

I still play this regularly. Good game to just log on and shoot something for a few minutes without any further commitment. Got a couple Tier 10 tanks, a few Tier 9, not paying for Premium anymore, just logging in to shoot stuff and log off after a few rounds.

I'm still enjoying this game. Starting the French TD tree, just had my first round in the Somua S-40 (Tier 4) and managed 8 kills. I also picked up the 8.8 cm Pak 43 JagdTiger, and that thing prints credits. Lost a round with 57,759 credits received, 13k spent on repairs/ammo. It's good against other Tier 8 and below, but Tier 9 just tears it up. It has 1300hp vs 1800 of its bigger brother, and the engine is smaller, so it's not quite as agile. But it sure throws shells around quick, 4.5ish seconds per shot, 203 pen and ~240 dmg.

Why did you buy Jagdtiger mit 88mm? 10k gold for a slow and undergunned version of regular TD.

I think I`d enjoy playing even KV-5 more than that. But yea, it can make lots of money anyway. If you were swimming in gold Lowe or T34 would have been better performing choice.

I have a Lowe. I have the entire German TD line in my garage, all Elited. Because I can.
Yes, I spent 10k gold on the "underpowered" 88JT, but I am thoroughly enjoying it. I have had multiple 115k credit rounds in it, so, it is already earning its place. It plays like a bigger slower version of the StuGIII relative to Tier. It's a FUN tank.

Looking for some feedback on tank route to take. Awhile back I used to be premium, and was clan'd up and all that. We were pretty competitive and won lots of tourneys so I used to be good. Back then I was going down the soviet medium tree for a T54, but I just kind of gave up once I got to the T-34-85.

Now I'm playing again, and its been nearly a year. I'm rusty and so much has changed I feel. I read that the T-54 isn't really worth it, but that the T-44 is a beast for a medium, some calling it one of the best tanks in the entire game. My problem is I'm kind of torn, I kind of want to go sideways into the heavies. From the T-34-85 I would need to go left to the KV-13, which is a filler tank it seems. Then horizontal again to the IS and down the IS tree, hoping for an IS-8 and if I"m crazy enough to grind, an IS-7.

Does anyone here have any input about which route would be better for PUGs? Are mediums just not that viable in PUGs any longer? In clan wars or other platooning, a medium can work well to scout and generally support heavies by flanking, but it requires communication for it to be consistent. Would I be better to go for the IS line if I'm going to be PUGing mostly? Would it be better to go for the T-44 since I'm used to medium play and would be more familiar?

Help be [H] you're my only hope

re: new premium tanks
The are better than the old ones. WG essentially baits you into buying new premiums when they come out by tweaking the way they receive credits. For the same amount of damage to the same enemy tier tanks the old premiums receive fewer credits than the new premiums. Once there will be yet newer premiums the 88JT will essentially be nerfed and the then new premiums will make more credits.

The thing is, depending on how long you have been playing, credits are pretty meaningless because there's literally nothing left to spend them on. I have been playing without a premium subscription for a while now and even running Tier 9/10 tanks I overall barely lose any credits, certainly not at a rate where I will run out of the millions that I have.

The term "worth it" is pretty subjective. The way I apply it is whether I have fun driving a particular tank even if it is frail or if if doesn't do much dmg. I still drive my Easy8 because I have fun with it.
The T-54 is still the strongest medium imho, especially for clan wars you basically need it. No one does CW in Tier8 tanks anymore.

In PUGs none of this matters, you could drive an MS-1 and have fun. PUGs are PUGs, sometimes the quality of players you get is excellent, sometimes it feels like the only player on your team is you. I drive an IS7 and I feel it's still a great T10 tank. The 50B gets a lot of use in CW but so does the IS7.

Thanks. I ask because getting to tier 10 would be probably 1 branch right now and I'm not in a clan so I'm just tinking away having as much fun as I can. Currently my T-34-85 with the 100M can do good damage and I read the T-44 with the 122 is deadly if played like a medium.

I have a ways to go for either the T-34 or the KV-13 about 50k XP. So I'll continue plugging away I suppose and make that decision when I get there. I just hate getting flatted by a heavy when I encounter one, though its usually my own fault for breaking the medium code. lol

Pretty much why I stopped playing WoT, even with platoons (especially since summer + more stupid pubbies == painful landslide loss most of the time), probably because I take the game a bit too seriously. The itch to try to get a batchat before patch 0.7.x in the year 2905 is fairly tempting.

Actually, I enjoy it more when there is a bunch of stuipd pubbies. It goes both ways, sure you get some times where you get a bad match make, but then you get some games you can just clean up one which is always fun. I miss playing my KV and going on top gun streaks.

I'm not sure I like the new modes, especially Assault, I don't think they thought that one through enough.

Well, the T-44 suffers from the odd ammo rack issue so you really need a wet ammo rack module. Then there are lots of people who figured out that to kill a higher tier medium you track it and that's pretty much the end of it.

I have the T-44 (still 60k to go to T-54) and I play it like a scout. The longer I stay alive the better. I am not too proud to run from a duel even if I could ordinarily get the upper hand. I'd rather retreat and get the hostile closer to my team's guns than to stay at the front line and be exposed to more hostile guns.

I stay mobile often traveling from one end to the map to another. Looking to finish off tanks and/or track heavies so they stay in place and arty can get them.

The T-34-85 was one of my most favorite tanks, great agility, great gun, and cheap to operate. I love that tank and I may even buy it again now that am no longer paying for Premium subscription.

I have 6.9k battles played, none of them in a clan and none of them were platooned, all just pubs. I still love the game even with the glitches and at times infuriating hit mechanics. I feel that I take the game very seriously and that can lead to frustrations in pubs but at the same time one player who knows what (s)he is doing can make quite a bit of a difference even if the other players are only marginal. I also find most losses entertaining because to me it's not about the win but about the game.

Basically the game is what you make it.
I try to find odd spots when I am in my arty so that the hostiles are like "WTF HAX!" when I hit them, or I mix it up by not camping with the 704/T28 but moving with the heavies, or staying back with the IS7 to kill the scouts first and only then advancing.

What I love about WoT is that conceptually each game is the same, but no two games are actually the same. The amount of variety in execution is what keeps me entertained.

I still love the hell out of this game. Haven't really felt like buying a money-printing premium yet. I have the M6A2E1 from launch day but it only gets 60k on a normal round. I think the best I've ever done is 80-something, but that required 8 kills. Not that impressive but still makes more money than anything else I've got. Only thing I can't afford at the moment is an IS-7 but I'm not worried about it as I'm not in a clan and I already have an IS-4. Currently maxing out my T95 and working my way up the Russian medium tree.

The new game modes seem to be taking some heat but Wargaming posted that they're looking into a system to allow people to choose what type of battle they want to get into prior to hitting the shiny red button. Personally I don't know how they're going to do it and keep the game balanced. All you're going to see on Assault are full teams of TDs IMO.

I feel like I'm grinding SUPER hard and I'm at like 800 total battles lol. I did get my KV-13 finally (from the 34-85) and should have my IS in the next day or so. So far I'm back to loving the game, clanned up and having a blast!

I'm not so sure about the new game modes.. but I wont say they are broken. I think the bigger issue is most people don't realize they're playing new modes, so they rush when they should be defending etc...

Wargaming needs to patch the game to make the game mode way more apparent before each match starting. Like a huge graphic stating the model before the level countdown expires or something.

Yeah, I'm sure it does. WoT has never been my primary MMO, so I don't rack up the battle count like I do play time on other MMOs.

I didn't enjoy my brief stay in the kv-13, gun was very under powered, the tank has good stats tho, pretty sure its the most heavily armor medium at that tier.

Working on either a Tier 10 American HT or MT not sure which one to get yet.

Tier-10 HT, as the tier-10 mediums are a long way off. The T110 is one of the must-have CW tanks for any serious clans.

At least you didnt have to grind past the T34 in the earlier patches. Holy crap did I want to kill myself when grinding that damn thing.

On that note, I would really want this tier-10 beauty that will never see the light of day.

i suspect that the new t10 med will have roughly the same performance as the current t9 meds, they just gonna nerf the t9s.

I could see an HP nerf to T9s but I'm betting the top gun for T9 will be the top gun for T10, continuing the tradition of ppl having to grind a heavy or TD if they want to hit hard.

6.9K battles, holy shit.

just takes time, not that surprising

The battle count goes by without you really noticing man, I'm at around 7.4K.

see? :D
