You have got to be kidding me, MC Hammer is launching a search engine? And it is called WireDoo? :eek: Thanks to Mark C. for the link.

The project, called WireDoo, has been two years in the making, said Hammer (real name Stanley Burrell) Wednesday at the Web 2.0 summit in San Francisco. At the conference, he said what will make his search tool better than Google (or, too legit to quit, if you will) will be its "deep search" ability. "It's about relationships beyond just the keywords," he said, according to Mashable, a CNN.com content partner.

I was going to write some horrible pun, but then I read the article and realized google can't touch this.
 
Someone tell him he's about 15 years too late, to make some random internet thing that some other company pays billions for.

Oh Boy ..this is going to be the beez kneez .. I can't wait to test this one out!!

I wonder what this search engine is going to bring to the table that is different from all the others out there .. and just how many other search engines are there now?

from the article it will do more than just give you results for what you search for but link to other things that are related to that topic that you are searching for.

so like if you were to search for Gears of War, not only would it give you links to stuff about Gears of Ware, but also video games in general, xbox 360, first person shooters and stuff like that. if you searched about Windows, it would give you information also about Microsoft, computers, operating systems....

To me that actually sounds like a worse way to search. Unless they can present it in a good way you are going to get WAY to much info and much of it unrelated to what you are wanting
 
Found this on another site talking about the site.

Instead, the still-in-development WireDoo will "add relationship information to search results," reports The New York Times. Sounds a little vague, but gist is that if you search for something like a car, what you'll get is a bunch of information related to cars like insurance offers and consumer safety ratings.

Maybe we're missing something, but it seems like MC Hammer wants to create a search engine that cuts out the part about helping searchers find things they asked for and just spams them with adware instead. In other words, Yahoo!

fuck yes the.man is back!!! I will use it and i hope tge logo wears 1991 style parachute pants and every link and ad sells parachute pants!
 
He is a nice guy who gets talked into a bunch of dumb ideas. Putting doo on anything essentially confirms catastrophic failure.
 
As silly as this seems... imagine how pissed off google and microsoft would be if we all started using this new engine and they went out of business because of it... ahh, I'm no mc fan, but it would be just TOO awesome to see this become hugely successful
 
I am definately using this once it goes live.

I have been saying for YEARS, why the f$%@ doesn't MC Hammer launch a search engine??
