Serious Sam 3

I don't remember when was the last time games had 2 player split screen. You know why? Because it sucks ass. On a PC you would need 2 keyboards and mice in order to play it, and even if it was a game that is based on keyboard play only, you better have NKRO or you would just end up locking more than two-three key presses. This is why LAN/Internet play was invented :)

Sega racers had 4 play split screen on PC and came out in 2010. :p Trine allows 2 keyboards/mice to be used in co-op (or 2 controllers).

With every card produced since ages ago being able to handle 2 monitors, you wouldn't need split screen. Just have 1 monitor per player.

I liked playing 4play split screen with all controls on the same keyboard, firing 4 weapons at once, and trying to make sure 1 player didn't get stuck on a pillar...:D

Well split screening on one monitor and putting each session on two monitors is an entirely different thing coding wise. My son and I game a lot together and I'm thinking about letting him play SS (He's about to turn 10), and it would be fun to be playing beside each other instead of each on our own rigs. I would only do that if we could get a session per monitor though, splitscreening a 1920x1200 screen sounds suck.

Fortunately, Sam can carry every gun in the game at the same time, so you can switch between them at will. How can he do this? Shut up, that's how.

LOL great review. :)

For some reason I thought that BFE was, "Before the First Encounter" as in, it was a prequel. Apparently I just made that up.

Regardless, this may be the first game I pay full price for in a long, long time.

It won't happen until after release, but I can't wait to hear Ben Croshaw's take on this. I have a feeling it will be quite epic.

looks interesting. first day purchase for me also. maybe it is too open, looks too barren...

Does not look as good as screenshots, first day purchase though!

if thats actually the game it has to be an early alpha.. and based on the lag when he was in the village my guess is the graphics were turned down so he could record in full screen as well.. but just look at the screenshots in the link addictedto60fps posted.. its quite obvious the difference.

either way i'm buying SS3 for the game play, i wouldn't even care if it looked like SS1/2 HD graphically its still a day one buy for me..

you are most likely right.. or BeFore the End.. but Before the First Encounter sounds more likely.. but you know people will come up with some crazy shit to try to explain the BFE acronym..

Yeah, I would hope that new youtube video of the game is not the real game, as it looks nothing like any of previously released screenshots or the E3 footage that was released. Either that's a mod or that's the game on its lowest graphic settings. Ok, this is much better. New video:

Edit: Video has been rehosted and is not private anymore - yay! :) Beginning is kind of slow, so for those who don't want to watch it, skip to 5:37 for more serious action. :)

When does this game come out?? Summer is ending!

In the latest interview posted here, this is what Croteam said:

Finally, can you give us an exact date for the game or are you going to tease us some more with ‘A Summer release’?

You’ll probably be hearing a release date rather soon, so let’s leave it at that for now. :p

Also, the below is music to my ears. :)

This is being made on the same engine as the HD remakes. However, from the trailers it looks a million times better. What kind of things are you able to do with the Serious 3 engine now?

Actually, Serious Sam: BFE is made using our newest Serious Engine 3.5 tech, while HD games are using Serious Engine 3. This Serious Engine 3.5 tech was built specially for Serious Sam 3: BFE and allows our team to dial up the action to unprecedented levels. Gamers will see larger, more detailed battlefields filled to the brim with an amazing amount of enemies filling the landscape. Honestly, by the end of the game it’s unreal how chaotic the battles become.

A very popular high-end game stopped PC players from fiddling about with the graphical settings (Crysis 2), will BFE give full control over to the player?

Yes, we’ve always enjoyed giving Serious Sam fans great control over graphics settings and that will continue in Serious Sam 3: BFE.
