If you always thought Steve Jobs and company were actually aliens in disguise, well they have partially outed themselves with their new building design. The new campus for all things Apple will resemble a landed spaceship when viewed from above. Where else would the mothership look when retrieving the intrepid explorers after completion of the mission? :D

No shit Apple products are expensive.. Lets build over the top shit to finance our out of the world dreams.

What's so special about it? It doesn't look alien at all, just simple circle shaped building with park in the middle.

"Hey why were you late?" "Cause I just came from engineering, on the other side of the fucking building." "That's no excuse!"

Weird thing is when I think of Apple I don't think of that many employees. I mean, Microsoft you think millions of people, but Apple you still think of as 'that small company' even though they recently topped Exxon for highest valued company in the world.

What a waste of space.

"It'll hold around 13,000 people in total and include room for an underground 1,000-seat auditorium, around 300,000 square feet of above-ground and underground research facilities, and an underground parking structure. Apple will also use an on-site power plant to fuel the building in an attempt to limit the new campus's reliance on the electric grid."

All of that PLUS 6,000 trees and "some apricot orchards" in the middle of an already beautiful city? I don't know about you, but that sounds like the complete opposite of a "waste of space" to me.

I was going to say, that place looks amazing. Would love to work there. How ever I haven't done anything in my career to really work for them so I will for ever dream to become some CEO at MS.

I have an idea:
US Govt sues Apple for patent infringement, claiming that they had a design for a " new pentagon ", exactly like Apple's new HQ pictured above.

Dept Crisis solved.

It's apple. Some people here are going to shit on it no matter the cause.

Watch crApple patent this design and sue every company that try to build this shape of architecture.

A Frisbee? Really, I mean really!!?? I suppose it fits the way they were, back in the 80's anyway.

How is this tech news? Why should I care what buildings look like? That has nothing to do with computers.

Enough of the Apple bullshit on EVERY news website. This is why I stopped going to Tom's Hardware. Every time Jobs takes a shit, there's a news article about how great it smelled.

Sweet building though, while I'm here.

looks nice enough actually

so we have the pentagon
the octagon

and apple has the donut :D

kidding aside it will look and feel really green there with all those trees

I wonder if Apple has a patent on UFO shaped buildings....

Guess one of our ancient movie theaters is SOL then...

I think that building be shaped like the outline of their logo. A big ass apple with a bite out of it.

A lot of Apple haters here. Must be the new M$ thing. The funny thing Apple would never have gotten this big if it never release iTunes and the iPod to PC users that's when sales went way up. Oh well, I like the building, something that is refreshingly not square and goes up many floors.

Yep..everything a space ship needs.

A building with trees around it.
Is this about apple or the building, or both.

Its not about Apple vs MS, its just a building folks.
Its there money who cares.

"It is better to be talked about than not talked about." Oscar Wilde

Like with Microsoft detractor of the past, indignant chatter only keeps them news worthy (How many hits did the picture site receive)
Apple has done well with artistically engineered, functional products as well as brilliant 21st century marketing.

As for the company's value, it is based on stock, a rather mercurial method of evaluation (like Qualcomm several years ago).

Nah. As a stock holder I say make them work in concrete cubicles. I'd rather have another 2 cents on my shares than have employee apricot orchards.
