my 3 mini-ITX builds (with pics!)

Why exactly did you choose the H67 chipset over the P67 chipset with the 2600k processor?

I'm very interested in these pictures, but it would appear that you've reached the Photobucket traffic limit or something. Could you update the links, please? :)

Photobucket failure.

aww dammit, i just noticed it. i don't think updating the link would help, because i still hit the "bandwidth limit". does this mean that i uploaded and stored too many photos? or does it mean that too many people viewed these pics? would deleting some older few-year-old pics help, or is there any other way around this besides paying for the premium account? and it appears that only some of the pics were replaced with the "bandwidth limit", but some of them are still viewable.

i was just about to upload the last final pics of the finished product too

Maybe you only need to get rid of old pics...
We are craving for your updates!

It means the pics got too many views in x amount of time. You could upload them to a different free image host (e.g., imgur).

Dropbox > imageshack :D

I disagree, Imageshack gives you the ability to upload images on the front page, without even having to sign up.

Dropbox makes you download something.

I would like to see some pics of the Habey EMC-800S system.

does imageshack or imgur also have the bandwidth limitation for the free account? i don't want to run into this problem again. my bandwidth cap will be reset on the 26th, but until then, i registered for imageshack account to temporarily host these new pics. i'm uploading now, i'll post the pics soon

ok this is how i did the cable management: almost all of the cables was routed underneath the motherboard so it doesn't hang all over the place inside the case. this includes the SATA data cable, 4-pin CPU power, front panel power/reset/hard drive LED wires, and sata/molex peripheral power cable. cramming the cables between the mobo and the side panel wasn't the easiest thing because there was only a few millimeters of clearance. the only cables that were not hid underneath the mobo were the fan cables, which i traced in red and green in this pic

another angle of the wires

i found an expansion slot cover that's made of mesh, so i cut the bottom tip off so it can fit the extra expansion slot and not interfere with the HDMI port of the video card

Hey, these pics work!

Nice job with this little build, great cable routing. Just how silent is this PC?

you would think that it would make lots of noise for an i7 with discrete GPU in such a small space, but it's actually pretty quiet. that was one of my goals with this build. at idle, fans spin at around 900rpm, so they're inaudible over ambient room noise. during gaming though, the fans do ramp up to around 1300rpm, which can be slightly heard

WhiteFire, can I get a link to these "higher-quality" power bricks for the Pico? Anything I'm finding just seems standard

for those interested in the pics on the first page, my photobucket bandwidth finally reset so the pics are back now :)

Why would you? it's too slow no matter what you do, It's a "just enough" media PC and is perfect at it

Was thinking about getting a e350/ emc 800b for a emu setup. Just wondering how much extra speed can be squeezed out of it.

No good for emulation IMHO, I have one and tried BSnes and was very slow without any filters. Should be good for less accuracy based emus like ZSnes and S9x, Gens, Finalburn, etc

Also very slow on most indie games SMB, braid, trine, etc.

This would be a nice lil beast for an AIO HTPC

Even some basic AAA gaming

Does that e 350 overlclock at all?

the AMD E350 does overclock, but not on the asrock board that i have. the only ones that allow overclocking is the gigabyte and asus deluxe model i think. and even when you overclock it, it's not worth it because you need to pump a large amount of voltage for only a small boost in overclock

Maybe I will go with a 2100t and the emc 800b then.

the regular i3 2100 runs faster than 2100T but will have the same power consumption and heat if you undervolt it yourself. just get a board that allows voltage control. you can always undervolt the 2100, but you can't overclock the 2100T to run the same speed as the 2100

@ WhiteFireDragon: Is that Evercase ECE0528 all black? If so, where did you find it and whats its part number (Besides ECE0528)?

Nice builds, very nice - so nice I am building one of my own ;).

Thanks in advance!

here is the computer next to a normal sized ATX antec case for size comparison

here's also another pic of it sandwiched between two text books for a relative size comparison. it's about as big as my biochem and biology text book

i went home for memorial day weekend, so i though i'd snap a few pics of how it gets packed. it either goes into my backpack or a random carry bag i found that seems to fit quite well. if i don't carry too many books or stuff in my backpack, then i usually just put it my backpack, otherwise it gets packed into other bag to carry. but since today i had books and cloths in my school backpack, it went into the black one.

power adapter and cord can be placed on top after the computer goes it, or it can go in first and be placed at the bottom

my mouse pad and computer just slides in, on top of the power brick

there's even room for my favorite mouse to go on top :p

zip it all up, put the handles together, and this is what i carry with me every time i go home on weekends, and back to school again

what are you system temps on that H67N board? I am on watercooling, with external radiators... so very little heat is generated in my case, but the SYS temp hovers in the 50s.

You have your CPU fan ventiliating your SYS temp, but I wondered what yours sits at? Thx for any info.

It's been a while, but I forgot to update: I switched out the gigabyte H67N-USB3 with a ECS H67H2-I around November because it can hold a mSATA SSD on the motherboard. The mSATA SSD is a 80gb intel 310 SSD. Pics will come later.

Nice build(s)

I'm craving to move from atx->matx. Mini-ITX hmm considering I pretty much just play SC2 and have a macbook pro I might consider it as well.
(still trying to get use to the mouse since it's so light compared to my logitech performance mx)
