Looking for a laptop

I currently have a Gateway 7805 laptop but I'm in college and it isn't the most portable of laptops. So I'm looking for something a little more portable but can still handle gaming (Dedicated gpu).

Budget is only about $1000 tops, student deals will help too

I guess I should have added what I wanted

Around a 14"-16" screen
4GB Ram
500GB HD
i3 or above, or AMD Quad
Screen Res. preferably not 1366x768
Dedicated video card
 
check the for sale/craigs list in local area, if you are little familiar with them you'll get great deal while saving cash. of course if you are getting some kind of deal or need to buy new than newegg is your friend.
 
i just got done looking through Dell and HP and NONE of their machines in your price range has anything higher than 1336*768. I had to go into the Lattitude line to be able to get a 1080p screen and that was min $1300 for a reasonably spec'd one
