Corsair, a worldwide designer and supplier of high-performance components to the PC gaming hardware market, today announced that it was once again selected as 2010’s Best PSU and Best Memory Manufacturer by the readers of Custom PC magazine and bit-tech.net, two of the most respected technology publications in the United Kingdom. The awards were voted for by Custom PC and bit-tech’s audience of performance PC enthusiasts, overclockers and gamers. Choosing the companies they judged to have excelled in 2010, Corsair emerged as the clear victor in both the power supply and memory categories.

wouldn't buy anything else but Corsair, each time i try something new (OCZ for example) it bites me and I hate having to RMA anything. Since 2001 I have only had to RMA a single Corsair memory module.

Not to diminish Corsair's well-earned reputation, but it's this award a bit misdirected? To my knowledge, Corsair doesn't manufacture their own PSU's (Seasonic is the supplier, I believe) and they certainly don't manufacture their own memory chips (although they might be in charge of the module manufacturing process, correct me if I'm wrong). Corsair is simply a product designer, at least in regards to these two categories. Again, sorry if I'm wrong on any points here and I congratulate Corsair for these accolades.

Personally my choice for best Manufacturer/Brand of PSU would be Seasonic. Especially since they're one of the main reasons most of Corsair's lineup is just so good.

For RAM Brand I'd go with Mushkin Enhanced, hands down. Obviously neither company is a RAM manufacturer. That'd basically be Samsung and Hynix, but as far as quality assurance, overclocking and tweakability, I'd pick Mushkin.

Our PSUs are from a variety of vendors, including Seasonic, and our memory modules are manufactured from speed-binned ICs from a number of IC manufacturers placed on custom PCBs (in the case of Dominator modules) and tested at much tighter quality control levels than a lot of other memory.

We're happy to have the award - but it's based on user votes, and that's what really matters. Custom PC users vote on best memory maker, best PSU maker, etc, and they chose to give that award to us, so it means a lot more.

Hopefully we'll win Cases, Cooling, and Audio someday. :)

This is why I love the [H}. You have actual reps from the products you review and they are always helpful

Thanks and keep up the good work

Using their XMS2 memory and 750TX power supply. They'd get my vote.

I love the 800D, one of my favorite cases i've worked with. I would love to see Corsair bring in a true $70-100 mid-value case that has a lot of the benefits of the bigger brothers, maybe just not as much of everything. Definitely keep up on good venting and cable management!

my TX950w is showing up tomorrow... hopefully its as good as the hype

Im rockin the 800d and a 850tx psu. nothing but good things to say so far. I have only ever bought Dominator memory until recently when I heard great things about Kingston Hyperx. Keep up the good work Corsair. ;)

I'm about to blow my second corsair hx650. Sadly though I'll still buy corsair (bastards!)

that goes with most everyone. its the controls and designs that earned them this award.

for myself they have def earned it. they may not be the single best in every single category but there is this : nothing they make is junk. I can go buy any corsair product and now that it is good. for that reason I always recommend them for PSU. All I have to do give the wattage. the memory is another. where others I have to pick and chose lines I can pretty well just pick what I want.

I've been buying Corsair memory for 10 years now and not one has gone bad. Haven't bought any PSUs as I normally get PCP&C, but my next one is going to be that sweet HX1000.

May you earn many more. Cheers!

I love Corsair... most of my components are Corsair (PSU, Memory, H50)

I am looking into getting the CC700D too :D

Corsair FTW!

Corsair is awesome, and so is Redbeard. In a world of mediocre crap, corsair is one of the few companies that still delivers the best products and best support I've ever seen.

In the last 10 or so years, I've never used anything other than Antec power supply. I must admit that Corsair appears to be on top of their P/S game. I would never use anything other than Corsair memory.

For bringing the confidence building of the H50/H70 into the fray of DIY watercooling options, you have my vote.

Psst. A close-looped (akin H50/H70) for GPU would be a good idea.

Congrats to Corsair. Think if you guys produced cpu's, gpu's and mobo's, I'd probably have an entire Corsair computer.

congrats corsair! your PSUs are unfortunately too expensive for me (or too big) but i have corsair ram in both of my desktops. also love your H50/H70 and think you deserve cooling for those alone and how much theyve have changed the game in the last year or two. as for cases, the fact that you only have 2 (to my knowledge) is probably the only thing keeping you from that. if you had an entire line of cases with your quality and innovation, i think youd have it for sure. and i didnt even know you did audio. :D again, congratulations, and thanks for the great products!

XMS DDR3 and 750PSU, love it. Great job and thanks for being here in the forums. Now to get that 800D case!!!

An aware well deserve me thinks

I'm using their Dominator DDR3, and XMS DDR2 rams, as well as HX1000 PSU, I would vote for Corsair myself

And their reps here has been extremely helpful in the past too

I still don't feel safe with the cheap PSU I had to settle for on the main rig. Every other PSU has been corsair. But money was unexpectedly tight suddenly, so I had to go with a cheaper model (I still had to stretch for that). I'm still keep expecting it daily to burst into flames...
If only they made a case with a front door so I could use it for a mod (need optical drive access) :D

I think Corsair has some of the best PSU's but in terms of Memory I find Gskill to be a better buy. Sorry but Ive used Corsair memory in the past I just dont like it.

Yeah, I was going to say the same thing.

I mean corsair does contract out and have their stuff made to a pretty good quality standard, but they aren't actually making their own gear. This type of award should be going to the actual manufacturer IMO.

However, ultimately, if you are buying a corsair PSU or RAM you generally know you are getting a quality product because of who they contract out with. That really does mean a lot.

Corsair PSU's are the only ones I use now, Memory is good, but I have used GSkill in my system build, and my sisters new one, no complaints with them either.

I like their PSUs but find their memory and cases a bit "meh".

But remember folks, it's not what is on the outside that counts.. it's what's hiding on the inside that really matters. (referring to the internals of your power supply)

Don't be a fanboy.

Not really because you are talking about a customer award, which means the customer facing company is the one that matters. For that kind of award, well it would be one given our by PSU OEMs. They might say "This manufacturer is the best to work with," and give an award, but customers aren't really qualified to say as they don't know how that goes. They are qualified to say which company sells good final products and supports them well.

Also what a company like Corsair does for this kind of thing is non-trivial. The PSU manufacturers basically build things to spec. They release a design that can be ordered, and it is up to the customer how it is set up. If a customer wants the design built with bargain basement parts for the lowest cost, they'll do that. If the customer wants useless overspec parts in it, they'll do that to. They'll build to order.

That means the customer, the company that sells to consumers, needs to test what is important, and design a PSU that is both affordable, but high performance. Then they have to test and support the units that are actually sold.

Corsair seems to make good choices as to what design to buy, what components to put in to it, and they do a good job supporting the product.
