what does a Geforce 8800 GTS 640mb compare to these days?

Yo,

I put a computer together from spare parts, and have this card in it. I am wondering what nvidia or ati card does it compare to these days?

I've owned both and agree. I didn't notice a FPS difference in COD:MW or MW2 between the two cards. It was a little heartbreaking to know a card I spent $430 on is on par with a $100 card I bought for my wife's SFF system a few years later. At least it shows us how far along GPUs have come in recent years. The 8800gts was one hell of a power hungry card too, kind of like the Fermi :D

I used to have one, man i went through many cards thanks to compusa return policy lol

9800 pro >x800xl> 6800>7800gt>8800gts 320mb > 8800gts 640 SSC

those were the good old days.

My cousin gave me this 8800gts, so i put together spare parts and it turned into a nice gaming rig. Ill just set everything to LOW settings and let my friends play wth me lol

I think its pretty nice to know that the 8800GTS can still run games

People spent $430 on 5870s last November that will be worth $100 in 3 years. That's how it goes.
