Hello,

I'm looking for Co-op games I can play with my gf.

I bought Lara Croft GOL on XBLA, and we are having fun, and are about to finish it.

We tried GOW (the first one). My gf liked it but I didn't.

We played a little bit of LBP but got bored of it pretty fast.

I was looking into Fable 2 as I heard there is co-op, but from what I read, the co-op wasn't cool...Can someone confirm that?

Are there any other games out there which have fun co-op campaigns?
It has to be local co-op, not online co-op.

I own a 360, PS3, Wii and a PC.

Thanks!

Umm, you haven't tried Halo yet? C'mon man! :p

The first Halo had a great storyline, and you can pick that up for cheap. It's pretty fun in co-op. I'm not sure about the most recent (Reach), I haven't played it yet.

Fable 2 coop is kinda lame. You can import your character into another player's game, but you're given a generic henchman that has your character's stats. The result is you can still level and take gold back into your game, but you'll generally look nothing like your original character and wont have access to your inventory. What's worse is that you're both bound to the same screen.

In summation, it's not even close to being a premiere coop feature. Though, there's still some fun to be had and the second player can help quite a bit in certain areas.

If you're looking for a coop game with a storyline, maybe take a look at Tales of Vesperia, it has 2-4 player coop in battles, but only player 1 controls the game outside of battles.

As for other games, my girlfriend loves Geometry Wars 2, Castle Crashers, and Fat Princess.

indeed! I have never played a Halo game (except for Halo 2 on PC which I hated)...
I do plan on borrowing a friend's copy (he only owns ODST).
Does this have a split screen campaign co-op?

A few people have actually recommended castle crashers...I guess I'll HAVE to check it out...

We have successfully played Castle Crashers and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle XBLA games so far. I picked up Lara Croft but I can't get her interested so far. Side scrolling button mashers are great so far... stepping it up to an isometric game is next.

edit: Yes, ODST has split screen co-op.

Sell your 360, PS3, and Wii and get another computer and play WoW like my wife and me lol

Actually, I have 2 computers, 1 laptop and 1 mac in the house.
My gf is a wow player (she plays with her sister 2 evenings a week).
I used to play wow, until WotLK xpac, and then stopped.
I play a rotation of AoC, Lotro, Global Agenda and Crime craft with my cousin.

but I'm looking for co-op games on consoles that I can play with my gf.

If you're playing games like Gears of War they might not be challenging enough, but my wife and I enjoy playing the Lego line of games together. Lego Star Wars is our favorite, but Indiana Jones and Batman are pretty good too.

As I said, they aren't terribly challenging, but they are fun with a good sense of humor.

you guys realize that if he plays console games with his gf she'll be sitting next to him on the couch? I think that's what he's going for . . .

you can play mario kart wii, that's a pretty fun game, although id' wager it gets tedious later on.

there really aren't that many good co op games on consoles.

Resistance 1 Fall of Man had a great co-op, REsistance 2 was bleh, it didn't give you a full co op campaign like the first one did, some serious dropping of the ball there.

Why don't you uhh, watch movies and tv shows with her instead? that'd be far better than playing games . . . .

Yes its split screen. Well worth it.

I might be way off here but what about Borerlands? it has tonnes of content and the co-op (all I've tried is online) is top notch.

Yeah, she loves all Lego games and owns them all...but I find it boring :(

We do watch movies and shows and stuff, but I'm a gamer, and so is my gf, so what we really wanna do is play games together, sitting on the couch next to each other ;)

I shall look into resistance 1 then...thanks!

I actually own it on PC, and have played it quite a bit with my friends...but I don't know why, it never really did it for me...the feeling I had after playing was meh...not sure why...

I've had a few games do that to me, like the COD series. I wish I had another suggetion for you but I dont have the luxury of having my wife relax while gamming with me.

splosion man is my go to coop game. Simple fun, work together, non-mindless action.

I hate Halo.
I really hate Halo..

..well, until this week when I caved and bought Reach. The co-op is an incredible experience.. quick but really fun.

I highly recommend castle crashers

What about:
Left 4 Dead
Army of Two
Left 4 Dead 2
Borderlands

Fable II is very lame, not worth it

I'd say Gladius on original xbox, but apparently it's not backwards compatable on x360. That game is totally worth buying a used xbox for.

If you guys like racing games, Blur is pretty fun with 2-4 other people locally.

What about Nazi Zombies from Call of Duty World at War lol? My wife and I would play that some.

me and my special lady friend play;

Tetris Plus - wii
Warcraft 3 mauls - PC starcraft 2 likely has similar custom maps.
L4D2 - PC
Toe Jam and Earl - sega Genesis game on wii
Phantasy Portable 2 - PSP.
Mario Kart - Snes, DS, and N64........ Nether of us like the Wii Kart.
Boom Bloxs2 - wii gets old fast but fun for a few.

Sex - NetpornBook.

Though Starcraft and Warcraft are RTS's what I was talking about is a customization of the game and isn't really an RTS but its own category called Tower Defense. Though you are likely still not going to like it.

It is disappointing how little focus has been put on none online multi player games.

Played Mario Party 8 for the Wii a few nights ago and that has to be the worst piece of shit ever made. You wouldn't see this anywhere near this game

LittleBigPlanet

Then as already mentioned

Splosion Man is excellent
New Super Mario Bros Wii
Heavy Armor in XBLA

On the PC my girlfriend and I really enjoyed Transformers: War for Cybertron's Co-Op mode.

Plants vs Zombies on XBLA has an awesome co op mode, and a 2nd player can hop in the campaign at any time to help. My wife and I beat the entire campaign twice (each profile) and had a blast.

hide the penis in the vagina is always a big hit.

rock band works too

If someone knows it would help a ton but there was a PS1 game where you had to use the multitap for 3-4 players but you basically controlled a person inside of a cube, when you lean againt one of the edges it flips so that side is now the floor. The three other people go flying. I have no idea what the name is, or what the actual goal was but it was damned fun.

My GF at the time and our friends had a blast, if I knew the damn name I would immediately go buy it from wherever I could get it.

Resident evil 5 was the most fun co op experience ive had in a while.

Yes, first game that came to mind is Littlebigplanet for ps3... the first one for cheapest 1st, and if you like it get more. Good game for gamer dudes and chics alike, win/win... funny a lot of times :)

Serious Sam games for PC is pretty damn fun coop, even can include your friend if theyre over, more blood and guns but your gf already likes GoW soooooo , but tons of stuff to shoot (literally) :D Funny too!

And for Xbox a fun game is Fuzion Frenzy (also awesome when friends are over) ---- which if anyone has used and WTS, please PM me :D Its an awesome party game for 2-4 players
