I didn't see this in your first post, but what is a 'GPU PSU'?

Is it something akin to the BoosterX5?

This is a supplementary PSU which has a separate 12V cable which plugs into your wall/strip that has 2 sets of 8p/6+2p cables to power 2 additional PCIe cards. It uses an adapter cable that you plug your existing PSU into so it will power on at the same time as your primary PSU.
