Hello [H]ard|Ware,

This is my current power supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817159058

I'd like to install two PNY GTS 250 and I'm curious if I will need to upgrade my power supply? If I must upgrade before installing two of those cards, will my card suffice for one GTX 260?

Hopefully we can keep the whole "go with (insert card name) instead of those GTS 250" chat to the video card subforum. :)

Thank you and Happy Holidays!

With that story aside, would the PSU not suffice?

Depends on the specs of the rest of the PC. But I'd say no. That PSU would barely provide ~550W of power or so at about 40C or so. Push it up to 45C to 50C, which can occur inside a PSU/PSU and more than likely that PSU would barely be able to provide 450W or so.

I appreciate your help. Here is what I currently am using:

EVGA 680i
Intel C2D E6600 @ 3.0
Corsair XMS2 4GB
XFX 7900gs SLi

Although, it does seem that maybe an upgrade would be the best route if I plan on either the GTS 250 or GTX 260, correct?

The above setup might be fine with a single GTX 260 but definitely not fine with GTS 250 SLI. But yeah, an upgrade is recommended.

I've decided to go with a single GTX 260. May I have a suggestion for a PSU given my current setup?
