NewEgg has a Western Digital 750GB Caviar Black 7200 RPM HDD WD7501AALS + Canon PIXMA iP2600SE Inkjet Photo Printer for $64.99 w/FREE SHIPPING

$49.99 Combo Savings...

Buying one then hocking the printer for $30 thu CL or to a family member >:) $35 750 WD black? Why yes I will.

grabbed one, might put a printer on the carputer, elsewise yeah, 35 dollar printer to someone.

Good deal, however am i the only one who wonders why they combine two unrelated items like this in a sale?

I mean what does a Canon printer , and WD hard drive have in common?

Would make more sense if it was a hard drive + case or printer + cartridge etc..

the canon has been a freebie deal with various stuff for a week or so. I would guess this is clearing out old stock for a revamp of canon's printer line.

Printer ink is so expensive these days... just don't buy a new ink for your current printer. Just use this new one and throw it away when the ink is gone too. :)

wow if that printer is halfway decent then this is a great deal. im running out of hdd space and wanted one of those new samsung F3's...but this might be way too tempting. good post, OP :)

Ah, I missed it. That was an insane deal considering the morning shell shocker deal for today is that exact drive for the same price w/o the printer.

There is a combo with this drive and an Antec Two Hundred Black ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail for $94.94, which is a $20.00 savings. Too bad I don't need the case.

Wow, dead already? Damn... I went to lunch with the full intention of buying one when I got back...

Crappy. I really needed a printer and the fact that it came with a Black HDD was even better.

Damnit Newegg... I didn't know I needed this. I also bit on the dock + HD listed on Slickdeals under the same heading.

Printer = Christmas for my mom
Dock = kinda wanted one of these, solves the problem of having too many drives in my computer (5 drives, one BluRay)
Hard drives = take out the printer and dock, and the price per GB is pretty unbeatable.

this is a very hot deal, sell the photo printer for $40 on craigslist, making the 750GB hard drive $25.

Deader than Micheal Jackson and Patrick Swayze combined. Sucks, wanted to pick up a printer.

Glad I got one before it died, I think that printer I saw some other etailer selling for like 30 bucks but I wanted the HD so the printer is really just a bonus

That printer got great reviews for a budget photo printer under $50 earlier this year. So instead of purchasing printer ink for my old cheap photo printer, i bought the IP2600 at Walmart instead for $30: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10151258

Can't remember if the walmart printer came with a USB cable, but i don't think there was one in the box (?)

Keep that price in mind if you're trying to flip the printer on craigslist or ebay ;)

that walmart deal is rather good if anybody here needs a cheap printer, but missed this, like i did

hard drive is still available... printer is still available...

so why combo is not available?

unless, maybe it was limited to a max number of sales?

yeah, they must have deactivated the combo early because they didnt want to hand out discounts and basically free printers as long as they said they would  im not going to hold it against them, of course, because i mean etailer deals are notoriously fickle...but im still pretty disappointed. i guess ill wait for a deal on an F3 drive instead. oh well, it'll be faster than this WD hdd anyway :) (ill stop bumping this thread now, heh)

thats why you find the last printers made without the stupid ink chips.

canon's ip3000, ip4000 and ip5000 are the best printers you can find, and theyre 5yrs+ old now. i have 2, a 4000 and a 3000. i bought them used and i replace the printheads every couple years.

the only problem is, when i first got them the printheads cost $45, and steadily creeped up to $60 over the years. eventually, i wont be able to find them anymore and thats when ill be forced to buy into this crappy computer chipped ink.

but for now, i pay $1.79 per color cart .. so i always have 3 or 4 sets of ink ready to go.

You sound like you speak with some experience, care to share where you buy your ink from? :)

Or buy more expensive printers which tend to have cheaper cost/page.

For that matter, for text printing, your better off buying a cheap laser printer. Buy.com has them for 100 bucks or less pretty regularly.

With that said, you may end up tossing it when the cartridge is used up.....I'd probably try to sell it on ebay for a few bucks if the replacement is to much.

For better ink jets, a continuous ink system can be worthwhile if you print a lot of photos.
