Very nice graphics. I kept imagining I was seeing Elder Scrolls 5.. Hey, I can dream, right?

has any games been announced that plan to use this engine?
it looks beautiful

Haha my thoughts exactly, those roads look "painful" for human, horse and cart.

I'm pretty sure even 100's of years ago, a 1000 years ago, roads were never that bad.

Very nice video.

A great example of why Larabee is miles away from being used as a game engine any time soon. Nvidia have been right to hit back at Intel on thre real time ray tracing front.

Unigine also has some neat glass and fog FX, roll on next gen games :)

While YouTube HD looks horrible, I have to say that this engine demo doesn't look all that bad.

sooo when we gona have games that look link this ? :( you know put my thousands of dollars worth of computer hardware to use.

FIrst to post benchmarks? :)

cpu overclocked as described, stock GPU settings on a 5870

That engine is really cheap too (40,000 for the top of the line liscence). I wonder how many devs will take advantage of the engine and really make something good with it. (14 so far it looks like)

Well, it's not working on my PC. I'm having a driver error with my ATI 5770 card, on Win7 x64.

Engine:init(): clear video settings for "ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series 8.660.6.0"
ALSound::require_extension(): required extension
AL_EXT_LINEAR_DISTANCE is not supported.

my score @ DX 10.

Looks really nice especially considering the demo is only 127megs.

[edit]

Nice looking demo. Patiently waiting to see what the developers turn out.

Tried the DX10 version with 3D Vision for the lols - slowed my dual-8800 machine to a crawl.

Hard to tell from watching the video, was the grass just layered sprites like most game or did it seem like real blades of grass? Seems like trees and grass have always been the lowest priority on making 3D even though its one of the most common elements in most games.

Was I supposed to be seeing something? Looked DX9 to me....(?)
Cool demo but I missed anything mind blowing.

I guess my only critism is the texture/effects pop-in/jiggling, extreme over-use of the DOF, and the lack of time spent on night-time lighting (which didn't look that great afaict, so I can understand they wanted to only show the best stuff about the engine).

Otherwise, yes, it looked good, and it's nice to see some new stuff!

Yeah I agree, but I think that's the reality of progress, it's going to get slower and slower as we approach realism

same, didnt see anything wow at all. Definitely cool art direction, and lots of out of focus blurring, but not impressed atm. I am sure that will change in time.

Really? I was *very* impressed. Been gaming for a long time and this is pretty mind blowing in terms of visual quality.

What stood out? Well, it was pretty much the amount of detail in everything: rocks, buildings, stairs, etc.

If you just look at it quickly, it looks like older demos we've seen... but the closer you look, the more you realize that it's all about the additional details that make it really impressive.

ps. The roads were "over-bumped" to show off a new feature in DX11.

yeah no joke, damn. I worked for a paving company a few weeks back, These guys can give us a call if they need some help we'll do the job cheap...

getting the trucks on location might be a bit of a problem...
