Just bought saphire 5870 Newegg!

Thanks! I've got a "lowly" 4870 512MB at the moment.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Out of curiosity, did your order status ever change to "charged"?

Here's what likely happened:

I clicked the link and saw they were available. I ordered one and by the time I finished through the ecart system and paid (which by the way, went through without error and i received an order num) they were out of stock

I checked email and nothing. I checked my order status and got the message i posted a bit ago.

From clicking the link to entering in and clicking the confirm button on my order I spent nearly 2 minutes. Guess that was too late.

I sent an email to Newegg stating my order was canceled by them and that they even made the vid card available again but did not reprocess my order or set one aside for me.

Like i said, not really upset at all. Just find it interesting. I dont mind taking a wait and see approach. I just wanted to test one out for myself and decide whether to keep it or sell it.

I see. Well here's a possible lead. . . Google product search shows the XFX and Diamond brand 5870's at zipzoomfly. The links are dead but I'd imagine they will go live as soon as they're available.

In for one XFX from ZZF as well. I hosed up my verified by visa PW and was still able to get one even after calling in to reset it :p
 
Got one XFX from ZZF as well. Going to see if the local Microcenter has any and get a second there so that I can finish my new PC tomorrow. Otherwise I will wait until the GT300 comes out to see if I want to move to that or go to crossfire 5870.
 
Yeah my status is "charged" as well, I think the order might sit there a week in the system before being shipped... Weak

So you ordered your card from ZZF and it already shows to be charged? I ordered one from them last night and my status still shows processing. I even opted for the expedited shipping. Hope they get on top it as soon as possible.

Ahh sorry, got my threads confused. You ordered your card from newegg right? I just didnt feel comfortable pulling the trigger on that saphire card.
 
I got mine from ZZF too and it's still in processing. This this is stupid, out of all the things to go wrong I think my order will be backordered. :(

Your order # 452xxxxx has been scanned and boxed by our warehouse(s) and is currently prepared for shipment, so it should be leaving our warehouse(s) shortly. You will receive an email with your invoice and any applicable tracking information shortly thereafter.

after you install them, I want to know your gameplay changes from gtx 285 SLi vs 5870 in crossfire and if you think it is worth it. I am trying to hold off the upgrade bug but its getting harder and harder

This is what I was just told:

Your order has passed the address verification stage. It is current in step 4 of 5 which is being boxed and scanned to ship out. More than likely 99% chance the order will ship out today. Once your order has been shipped, you will receive an automated email to the email address listed on your account with your tracking number.

God I am tempted just to try something new.. but my two GTX260s seem to handle everything I play fine at 1920x1080 so I guess I will wait a bit..
 
God I just want to upgrade from my 8800gt already lols. Waiting for the rest of my parts for my i7 build to come in, was hoping to pick up one of these this morning. "Buy it before work in the morning. There will be plenty in stock." Stupid brain.

http://www.linkecomputer.com/products/1004920/HD-587A-ZNF9/XFX/ is showing the XFX and Powercolor ones in stock. I've never bought from them, though.

Luckily I jumped on the Sapphire one from Newegg last night.
 
I still don't get how these can be shipped if they aren't supposed to be available until next week??

There was a limited batch of the 5870s available today. Supply will continue though at low quantities. The 5850s are the ones that were delayed for another week or two.
 
Just called up ZZF and it seems like you guys that ordered will have enough. One thing that confused me is under their Order Status it says "Processed", "Packed", "Shipped", and "Cancelled" were the options. My status changed to "Packed" so check your status too peeps.
