Anyone Playing Resident Evil 5 PC next week?

AHAHAH! Self Checkout wouldn't work either? Was a price listed below the box? I bet if you pushed, you may have been able to get them to enter in a price for you. Well, one of the dumber or cooler ones.

i told her a random number off the top of my head for games ,i said it was 54.99 on the shelf ,she didn't even say anything lol ,she called her manager or whatever and they said they were recalling it ,i doubt anything is wrong with the game im sure its just because they were stupid and put it on the shelves already
imo they still should've let me buy it ,i was seriously considering throwing the money on the counter and running out of the store with it
if only i had a contact at walmart!

i just got the game and played, and while it is epic and online is a blast, the game is kinda broken.

When i tried loading a new chapter, the game would crash with an error. The game also caused registry corruption on my pc for some reason. Sometimes, the game would not start and give me a games for windows live error.

Other than that, it is a very fun game to play online. single player is fun too.

Is this one of those, "I got the game via torrent and there's a bug in my moral code" issues or did you manage to snatch from...where...3 days before it's release and it really is buggy?

uh i never pirate. I actually bought the game from target yesterday.

besides, i dont think pirated copies can be played online.

Just got it and installed it but damn it felt like it took half an hour to install. That hologram picture that came with it was pretty cool.

Going to get it from Target later today. Tried getting it at Wal-Mart yesterday, but they wouldn't sell it. To the store's credit they sent someone back to electronics right away to take it off shelves.

provided you have a 4870 and up, the graphics on the pc are 5x better than the console.

That's too bad...hopefully zero day patch or something's wrong w/ your install/setup then. BTW, I was referring to this. :p

Weird. Its working perfectly fine for me. Working perfect for a friend of mine too. You sure it was the game causing the problems and not another issue on your end?

I was able to play it some and aiming with the mouse is sooooooooooooooooo easy but when you use your knife (quick slash button) it gets robotic or something.

I shall be playing it when I get home.

The knifing just flat out blows. It did in the console version as well.

I'm going to be picking RE5 and Batman tomorrow, but the amount of time I'll play depends on how much work my professors give me this week.

For anyone that has the game, does RE5 have a disc check? Having to swap out discs to play a game is annoying sometimes. Also, is there a text chat function for co-op or is it voice chat only? I don't have my mic anymore so voice chat only would be a pain in the butt.

If anyone wants to play some co-op, my Live account is Gr1MReapeRAK. Just send me a friend request and tell me you're from [H].

Just got it....it has the slowest install of any game I have ever seen in my entire life.

As a huge fan of RE4 - I really got to say that RE5 blows. Yes, the controls are pretty horrid, but it's RE and I can live with that. It was the forced-coop, unreliable AI, and contrived zombie sequences that ultimately ruined it for me.

Each zombie encounter was highly scripted with a predictable trigger, and every time they seemed to magically have you surrounded at close range.

Buy something else.

It runs pretty well, I guess. Looks nice, but the earth-tones get a little tiring.

Oooh. I played a good part of this on the PS3 w/ a bud, but it always looked like shit. It looked so bad...I remember running into walls because I couldn't make them out at times.

COD4 had DLC?
The downloadable MP content, lol. Like COD5 DLC, few MP maps, zombie map :).

lol, people. Get creative! You can so take a differnet sticker from another game and stick it to RE5 if you wanted to buy it that bad and go through self checkout :).

Yeah, it has a damn disc check. :( I think if you apply the crack to it you can't use GFWL but I haven't tried. I bought SF4 from Steam for the sole purpose of not having to deal with the dang disc check.

Ah, thanks for that info. I got the disc version of SF4 with the MadCatz bundle so I guess I'll just have to switch out the discs.

@Jodiuh, thanks for that link, I'll look into getting that. Can it work with a sound card? I'll probably be playing with 5.1 speakers unless it's really late at night and I don't want to bother neighbors.

Works via standard 3.5mm jack, so most soundcards should be fine. Although it will pick up EVERYTHING. Gotta use headphones or you're teammates will get nasty feedback and yell at you.

You can still use G4WL and play online with a no-cd crack. I do this with all my non-steam games.

slower than gears of wars? cause that game takes 6.7 years to install...

and we're talking i7 and raptor install... relatively fast hardware

I really liked this game despite some huge weaknesses. I played it on the PS3 and thought about buying it on the PC since it is supposedly the best version. I think I will have to pass though. I am tired of Capcom's delayed PC releases. I would rather have the PC versions but don't typically want to wait that long.

Unless you are obsessive about unlocking everything and maxing out weapons, don't expect to play this more than 30 hours or so. Going through once is a blast, and a second time is marginally fun. Past that, it is pretty boring unless you fall into the previously mentioned obsessive group that doesn't mind to play just to get money to upgrade weapons that can only be used in the story mode.

Do not expect to have fun with this unless you have voice chat and have someone else to play with. Single player sucks on this game.

The story line on this game is confusing and the two of us that were playing had no idea what was happening by the end. Fortunately, the good gameplay made up for it.

Having to hit the buttons during the cut scenes is frustrating. I would set down the conrol to eat some pizza and we would die because I didn't press the button combination that the game flashed on the screen, .6 seconds before killing us.

Compared to the other versions that were pre-rendered i liked those better. It gave a more real sense. The graphics are good now but it seems like a shootem up rather than a scary theme. Its pretty fun though. I am used to the fixed position cameras mostly. ;)

If I were to hook 2 wired 360 controllers up to my pc could I play co-op with a buddy next to me?

The keyboard/mouse controls are actually not bad at all, it's of course different because I think most people expect it (a 3rd person shooter) to feel like a first person shooter. One of the neat things I noticed is that by default they have your inventory assigned to the 1-9 keys (not numpad) so you can press 1 to access the #1 item in inventory which goes:
1 2 3
4 5 6
7 8 9

I just put the pistol in 1, shotgun in 2, etc, kinda like DOOM order, heh.

I think the most important thing people not accustomed to RE games need to get accustomed to is the quick turning (back + run). This helps in most situations where you need to turn around quickly but you're used to just flicking the mouse around, since the game doesn't work like that just familiarize yourself with back + run and you'll be fine.

I'm playing Zune HD! It's a bit tricky trying to get around the mobile browser...

:D

So overall, good game then? This instead of wolfenstein?
