Upgrade CPU with Abit NF-M2 Nview Motherboard which could i get?

Freaking MSI, they give you six sata ports, but only 2 dimms? WTF

why a tri core? lol im not really an fan of tricores =/. even though alot of people are going tricore because you could unlock the last core which i dont believe is safe.all of that would cost me more i would have to upgrade my ram also it seems i have the old ddr2 rams up to 800

The new 45nm Tri-cores are the way Id go but sounds like its to much for you. Id shop around for the next week or two and find the chip with the highest multiplier possible for around $50. A multiplier of 12+ will get you over 3.0Ghz and can easily be done for around $50, half the price of a Phenom 710.

If your at 2200 with a 9.5x 3600 you FSB is around 230-ish. Are you stuck at that point because of FSB limitations? I use to have that board and you have to lock the ports and possibly run a specific bios for brisbane overclocking. I was stuck in the 230-ish range until I figured that out and then took it up to an even 300 FSB. Dont remember how exactly as it has been a few years. I purchased a 3600 on launch day and ran it in that board for about 3 months prior to going C2D.

hm i could still push it more but i put it at 2.280 because my fan doesn't seem to cool it good enough its currently at around 1.3 v

i have an old motherboard with amd x2 64 3600+ running currently oc at 2.2 ghz =/ lol
i was wondering which amd processor could i get that will work for my abit motherboard as a upgrade! please help! lol

here is my motherboard

4 choices here... x2 6000+ windsor, x2 6000+ brisbane, x2 6400+ windsor or x2 7750 kuma

i recommend the x2 6000+ brisbane or x2 7750 kuma.. now thats if you want to go high end...

you can also get the x2 5050e x2 4050e x2 be-2400 x2 be-2350.. which are all low power 45w TDP processors.. that will all overclock to a minimum of 3ghz..

I thought that my mobo dont support am2+ or 2000 hypertransport cpus hmm is my
Mobo compatible with the 7750 kuma? Thanks i was also looking at the 5400 be and the 6400 be if my
Mobo supports the kuma definitly that one! Lol its only 55 and then imma buy an cpu heatsink also

check the bios but most am2 boards will support am2+ cpu's.. you just run at the slower HTT link speed..

nvm it doesnt support the kuma core.. though id look into the brisbane cores.. the windsor cores are a friggin joke.. they create more heat then actual performance..

Ah im an newbie at this where in thr bios and what am i looking for specifucally sigh if anythinh i guess i should get the 6400 be or the 5400 be

But you have to admit, Windsor cores do tend to overclock better than Brisbane...

not totally true.. it depends on if you have a black edition or not.. both the windsor and the brisbane will hit 3.5ghz on air.. while on a brisbane the voltage and heat is managable.. in the windsor its a friggin joke.. max temp on a windsor is 69C even the stock speeds your looking at 45-50C full load.. then try 1.6v+ to hit 3.5ghz..

the x2 be-2xxx 4050e and 5050e have a max temp of 72C but do take a lot more work to overclock due to it not having the unlocked multi.. but they will hit 3.5ghz it just takes a crap load of voltage to do it.. my be-2350 hit 3.5ghz @ 1.61v and never went over 60C full load using a TT big typhoon VX.. the 5000+ black edition hits 3.5ghz @ 1.58v and have been able to do 4ghz with insane cooling..

ive yet to bother trying to overclock my 6400+ 50C temp is enough heat for me in this room since all that system does is BOINC.. and atleast for me and what i do the brisbane out performs my 6400+ by a long shot.. the only advantage it had over my be-2350 was the higher L2 cache.. but the majority of what i do doesnt even take advantage of the higher L2 cache.. though i think one these days ill buy the brisbane 6000+ and stack it up against my 6400+ and see what the difference is since they both have 1mb L2 cache..

i guess only the 5400 be(Shit i dont see the 5400 be on their! ) and the 6400 is my best options huh =/

hmm around the same price but the 5600 has higher cache and the better clock.

both the windsor and the brisbane will hit 3.5ghz on air..
Wow, hold your horses there. Most Brisbane cores crap out between 3.0 and 3.2GHz, only the lucky few manage higher.

A Windsor based 6000+, as long as you can keep it cool, tends to be able to hit 3.5GHz more often from my experience.

Personally I'd go with the 5400BE Brisbane since the Windsors are all sold out at the moment. It'll be the easiest to overclock if that's what you're into.

I have a 5400+ Black Edition (Brisbane) that I need to get rid of. I'll ship it to you with the unused stock Phenom II X3 heatsink that I have unused too. $56 shipped

Lemme know
