I have a daughter that likes to surf the Internet and play simple web games, but I'm sure she would also like to play something with her friends online, so they can share some kind of gaming experience.

She's a typical pre-teen and is not interested in WoW, Call of Duty, FPS games or the like. I suppose it needs to be a bit more feminine. I don't know of any games, or have anything in mind, so I thought I'd ask here.

Is there anything in between playing card games online and a full out WoW scenario? Something that fits girls between 10-14?

That iSketch was pretty cool. She likes that.

I'll check out some of the other suggestions.

Use map settings maps in starcraft 2.

Diablo 3.

Don't get her involved in crap games just to get her doing something online. Let her do other things if she wants.

lol... I think TF2 has the most amount of girl gamers I've ever seen outside of WOW. I know a few girls that play Diablo as well. Besides that, all you got left is yahoo games.

I think your problem here is that there are not many online games which are suitable for her age group. It isn't surprising to me that she isn't interested in games like WoW, for instance, but only because of her age group. I know plenty of people who play WoW, including girls, but nobody younger than 14. I'm sure there are those who are younger, but they are the exception and not the norm.

There are a few online browser-based games that people have mentioned, and that's where I'd look first. Other than that, nothing much until she gets older.

My girlfriend has a cousin that failed 9th grade or something because she was addicted to Audition. Scary shit.

The Yahoo games are great fun and can be played online with others.

My sister plays Guild Wars, a little like WOW I guess, try the free trial, it's good.

girls can play any online games they want to. theres no specific games catered to women. im sure theres probably some horsey game or of course theres hello kitty, i heard they have some killer PvP in that one.

but seriously, if women are going to game online, they should expect to be e-fondled wherever they go. but the only way to prove you are a woman online is to use your voice on teamspeak or ventrilo.

maybe women just dont belong on the internet.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Yah, simple games on Yahoo seem to be the safest, considering her age. I was hoping to find something I could buy her at the store - the recommendations so far are online web based games (which are fine), but I'd like something to go under the tree at Christmas.

You're right about her age.... In a couple years, something the rest of us play might be better, regardless of gender.

poker stars?

plus if girls just didn't make girlie names and/or make thier avatar female, they could just play without notice.

But they never seem to want to fly under the radar...

Seriously, let her try WoW. Most chicks dig being able to make characters and play around with them.

Let her try a warlock, which is still "easy mode" as far as I'm concerned.

hey, check out pogo.com it has a bunch of minigames and stuff but iirc, you have to pay a membership fee. but you get little "acheivements" and you also get real life prizes w/ your points.

I have a 12 year old niece who plays whyville.net with her friends from school. My sister had me look into it awhile back and I didn't find anything negative on it. She's been playing it for about a year now and the PC is still virus free.

Viva Pinata (360)
Viva Pinata : Trouble in Paradise (360)
Viva Pinata : Pocket Paradise (DS)
Animal Crossing (Wii/DS)

My wife pretty much played the same games as me growing up.
Starcraft, Balders Gate, Diablo II (a LOT of D2 in her teens). Then again she was a bit tomboyish.

My neices like those games where you brush a horse, clean up its poo, then take it for a pixelated ride etc... They also love the sims 2. At first they had no idea what they were doing... but still loved it. Now they are actually getting pretty good at it scarily enough. They love building houses in it. Heck, I even enjoy that.
