You have to admit that this license plate is pretty damn funny in a way only geeks will understand. Props to the guy that owns the plate…and the Jaguar it is on. If you don’t get it, click on the forum link below, someone will be glad to clue you in.

lol.....Doing graphic design as a part time job, to me that's actually very clever.

0x00FFFFFF is white, the color of his car. Clever.

I was trying to figure out what the FFFFFF meant without looking at the article and the first thing that came to mind was < font color=#FFFFFF > < / font >

It's hexidecimal. Hex is an efficient way to compactly represent binary.

Poster above is probably correct in saying that particular code is a color of his car.

Back in high school I almost got a binary license plate. I drove a 1977 grand marquis hand me down from the parents. I was going to put 1001101 on it. But doing something that geeky in a small western kansas town, I thought better of :)

i just hex.... that doesnt give any meaning, im a stubborn bitch, i just sat here for a while b4 i figured it out, i gotta nerd more! :D too long since ive done the web page stuff =/

Anyways, you really gotta be a geek for that one, Good one!

maybe he just wanted it to be FFFFFF and it has nothing to do with the color of his car, just a coincidence?

i love this, i got a black t-shirt that has #000000 on it in black writing

Thats funny I read it as ffffffffffff... something a bit more vulgar.

I'm not sure about the color thing, but I read it asF@#$%@#$.

When I used to play CS, A LOT, instead of swearing, typing fffffffff was better. That was my impresssion.

I think its sad I read the hex and in my head thought "white" automatically.

I fear for the day I own a home and go to paint it.

Home Depot guy: So what color did you want this in?
me: I want this one in FFFFFF and this one in 5E0000 please.
Home Depot guy: -blank stare-

pshh.. I like mine better. ;)

Yea i like wiretap's better :D and did you got a new car?? Cause last time i saw that license plate it was on a yellow sedan*mistubishi??*

Mine is pretty good too, but that's NOT binary ... my birthday is Oct 11, just a good coincidence :p

Hey, the <font> tag is depreciated! :p

I saw a bright red Lancer Evolution at Fry's with the license plate "HENTAI" and had to laugh at that...too bad I didn't have my phone on me at the time.

Is pearl white suddenly geek chic for your car or something? You guys must really enjoy washing your car! I wanted my Civic in black but the thought of how filthy it'd look whenever it rained for a few days made me settle for galaxy gray. :p

I saw a MA license plate that read 1337 Y0. It was an old guy who was driving it, not sure he really knew what he had on his hands, hehe. I too wish I had a camera ready, but I was driving.

The owner could be a Klan member.

Well, he could. I'm just sayin.

I was debating vanity plates for my car I just recently bought. I narrowed it down to: GG H4X or HS FTW

hey how come your si has a keyhole in the trunk area? my si does not have one nor does any i have ever seen. is that updated for 08 or 09 or something?

My favorite was a car owned by a customer of mine. He has two daughters, so I HOPE it's referring to them, not to himself and his wife.

QT3-14S (On Oregon plates, the dash looks more like a dot, as it's really a small square.)

yuppers.. I sold that car a while back. Here's what it was on before.

Not to be rude, but in general, if you outright say it, it's not true. (In years of working computer administration and security, I have never once met a person who called himself a "1337 haxor" that actually deserved anything resembling that title. The only people who actually deserve that title know it's stupidity and avoid it like the plague.)

The only seemingly egotistical geek license plate holder I've ever seen that WASN'T an ego trip was a Mercedes SLK with a license plate holder reading "Mr. Linux" on top, "King of Geeks" below. (The custom license plate was a fairly sedate one mentioning fatherhood.) Yup, Linus Torvalds was in the driver's seat.

I have continued to see the car around town a few times over the past few years.

(edit: Removed the actual content of his custom license plate for privacy reasons. After all, Oregon's driver and vehicle registration database is publicly accessible.)

I almost feel too geeky that I understood it instantly... D=

I need a clever license plate...
