This waterfall / water curtain thingy is pretty damn cool. The different designs and “animations” using timed water is really slick. If I could read Chinese I’d be able to tell you more about this but I can’t so I am going to let the video speak for itself:

Jeep has had one of those for the past several years at NAIAS Detroit.

This is Japanese (I see hiragana and katanaga + kanji - chinese characters in JP).

Canal City Hakata in Fukoka Japan, and yeah it's Japanese not Chinese.

But yeah, that's awesome.

hehe the sound of the water reminds me of that old Adam Sandler bit, "The Longest Pee". :)

I did hear a Taiwanese (accent sounded like it) boy say at the end: "Hay dad there's words!"

The swipe in effects at the end was damn cool.

I was expecting the last half of the video to show the water going back up.

Nothing new, and as w1retap said, Jeep has been doing it for a while. I took the following pictures in March 2005 at the Geneva Auto Show. Not the best pictures, but they were all I could quickly find.

(Kind of hard to make out, it's 'Jeep' backwards, was on the wrong side at the time. :p)

Jeeps display is not even similar to this display.. Jeep is using lights on streaming water falls...

The display in Japan is using different streams of water to make the display

I was going to mention how that is Japanese and not Chinese but I guess I was a little late.

Yeah Jeep have been doing this for years now... nothing new.

I need a plumber, electrical engineer and a computer programmer. stat

Jeep's system needs more calibration. Its sloppy in its smaller symbols/letters.

Hardly a surprise given that the Jeep display has been around for 4+ years and the one from the front page is quite likely brand new. So yeah, one would hope the system could be improved in four years! :p Not sure if the Chrysler / Dodge / Jeep display is still being used or not, but chances are it still does the job well enough; so there's really no point in spending tens of thousands of dollars to re-engineer everything for a slight improvement.
