Q6600 G0 always what you get now?

Newegg doesn't guarantee it, but Fry's does.

Even if the general consensus is G0s are all that are being shipped out, there's still a chance you'll get a B3 unless the retailer specifically states G0 on the page.

Pick it up at Fry's as stated above. That's where I got mine, and the quicker shipping isn't that much more either.

I ordered a Q6600 from the egg about three weeks ago and didn't even worry about the G0 thing. I got G0. Given the volume newegg moves, it would be a shock if you got a B3.

That said, the only guys I knew who guaranteed the G0 were ClubIT and TankGuys.
ClubIT is in re-organization mode and TankGuys charges way too much.

The above considered, mwave still posts a B3 stepping on their page.
ClubIT advertises G0 but is backordered.

Wow really cheap at Frys. I just ordered one, Thanks for that post ADrenalin would have never looked if you didn't mention that.

Woah, ClubIT is back up? When did that happen?

Sorry to derail the thread but that was a total surprise.

They're pretty much all G0 CPUs now, but avoid the L8xxx batches like the plague.

Hell I didn't know that...the only reason I got a Q6700 was b/c they were all G0s and I thought it was still a crapshoot whether a Q6600 would be. Huh.

I got 3 G0s from ClubIT between February and April. Two were retail and had VIDs of 1.275 and an OEM with a VID of 1.325. The two retail CPUs run 3.6 all day with a vcore (after vdroop) of between 1.41 and 1.44. The OEM will only do 3.51 with a vcore (after vdroop) of 1.44.

At that time, it was still crapshoot on whether you would get a G0 or a B3 from newegg which is why I went with the guaranteed G0s from ClubIT. While newegg does do a huge volume, they have probably had B3s still going out longer than anyone else.

As of now, I have no clue about the supply from newegg. I would figure that since the G0s have been out for so long now, that most stocks of B3s should be exhausted and more and more people were stating they were getting G0s instead of B3s from newegg. However, if you are worried about getting a B3 that your best bet is to find someone that guarantees the G0 stepping.

ya i heard that some of the new G0 have a high VID and dont over clock as well. I think i lucked out with mine being 1.215v

:( Yep. My last two have had VID of 1.325 (both retail, one from Amazon, one from Frys). They run perfectly at 3.0ghz with no changes in settings, but anything over 3.0 is a bit difficult to get stable. They run full load 24/7, so I just leave them at 3.0 to keep the power consumption down, plus they are in the garage so it can get a bit toasty out there.

ClubIT went back live about 4 or 5 days after they bankrupted.
Unfortunately, their stock and selection has tanked since.:(

Try a small vcore bump to 1.35 for 3.2 (8x400 for 1:1 memory). Works for both my L804s.

I just got a L804 from Frys today and it has a VID of 1.30.......;)

So far it seems to be a fairly good OCer, I've got it running at 3.6 GHz @ 1.375 load in the bios. I might even try pushing it a bit higher later on just for S&G's.

i hope to get 3.6 out of mine with my new cooler that's coming :O

What, are b3s still shipping? I thought those stopped to be manufactured about 1 year ago.
