Anyone feel like puking after playing gta? I feel fine riding in cars because the motion is more smooth but when your running around and turning to look I feel like shit. Anyone used to feel nauseated but got used to it?

What console? It may be the motion blurring, that effect can get really bad.

Dreamcast did that too me with bluestinger and sonic. Would baft if I played for more than an hour.

i did.. when i first got it i felt sick..but played again the next day and have been fine ever since

Yeah you're not alone in this. I feel nauseas sometimes when playing as well, to me personally I think it's a combination of HDMI (images are too sharp so textures with great variances in very small regions will appear to flicker on the screen when the images move at a fast pace) and some framerate jerkiness of the game itself. I'm gonna switch back to component input later and see if that helps.

no problems for me thankfully. I have my consoles via hdmi on a 1080p 42" LCD, same one I use for my pc and I sit 3-5' when playing.

I play on a 1080P 47" from 5 feet away...that would start to make me sick on that game, so I moved back three or so feet and it seemed to help alleviate the issue.

Maybe step back from the tv a little.

After you get drunk (in-game) the way the camera acts makes me a little dizzy. Probably they best drunk effect I've ever seen in a video game.:D

Yep  I was going to say if you find the game nauseating, wait until you leave a bar :)

The drunk driving actually makes me a bit queezy, but normal gameplay dosent both me.

I've already been beat to it, but it's so true

The worst scenario is when you are drinking (in real life) and then drunk driving in the game.

Yes! I don't use the 1st person mode when driving because it makes me naseous. Although everything's drastically improved over GTA3, VC, SA, I still think the driving physics could've use more work. Cars practically pivot and bounce all over the place. As my dad commented, "it looks like you have a case of 'bowling balls in the trunk.'"

I play on the 20.1" LCD monitor and find that I have to sit back a little to avoid getting sick. Not a game you want to play when you're drunk or buzzed.

I only felt nausea when I was tilting the camera up and down, and noticing the perspective of the buildings around had a movie effect where the main character stays close, but everything else moves either away or closer.

the 3rd person view and camera does it to me, the perspective goes all distorted. I don't know why they did that. I demand FP

Could this be motion sickness? Although the graphics are not perfect, your brain could perceive them as reality. Your brain thinks your moving + Your legs are not = motion sickness.

I had to walk away until it quit.

and in response to OP, not many games affect me (um, three I believe: parts of portal, marathon XBL version, GTA4) but this one does tend to give me a headache at times. Moving back, changing TV's, nothing except not playing will make it quit.

I honestly think it's the low frame rate that it runs at. It has to be sub-30fps a lot of the time, it's the only explanation... that or the blur that someone mentioned. The far off stuff reaaaaaally looks like ass.

no nausea here... but i remember when hl2 came out for the pc, the boat ride made me a little sick the first time i played through.

Luckily, the game looks pristine to me and the only time I get dizzy is when intended - being drunk.

Yeah, I'd also suggest stepping back a bit and every now and then look away and focus on something far away like the horizon or something to help with the motion sickness.

You probably just need to catch up on your sleep. I've discovered when I play too much and don't get enough sleep, it's much easier for me to get motion sickness.

Most FPS' do this to me OP. For me it's a combination of motion sickness and glasses that bug me. Just take a Gravol or something (ginger is a good non-drug anti-nauseant) before playing.

I too had that same problem, but only while watchin someone else play. Once i was in control the nausea went away.
