hey,

I recently got a 2253BW and had this issue and wondering if any one else had it as well and if I should exchange mine.

When I plugged into my laptop (RGB analog) the screen was horizontally misaligned. There was a like .5cm gap on the right. In RGB you can adjust Horiz position so instead of 50 its 55. However, I plan on using DVI soon, and according to the manual you can not adjust the screen position in digital mode.

So any one using this monitor in Digital or even in RGB also have this gap offset? I'm afraid to use DVI and not be able to adjust the position. I read one review on newegg of someone having the same issue, but I wonder what you guys think.

I have a couple of days left before I can't exchange anymore.
thanks

You shouldn't have to worry about any of that for DVI. It is only adjustable for VGA.

I doubt 99.9% you will have an issue concerning this over DVI, and that's why there aren't any adjustments.

Digital does not need adjustment, the picture is always perfectly aligned on my 2232BW when using the DVI port while the VGA port sometimes needs manual adjusting.

did you try hitting the auto adjust button? usually in analog mode it fixes it quite nicely.

thanks for the replies.

now, it's my understanding that DVI and HDMI use the same video technology, but HDMI also includes audio. Since my laptop has an HDMI port, if get an HDMI->DVI cable, do you think it will work fine if I plug it into my monitor's DVI port? I have never tried using the HDMI port before since I don't have any HDMI devices.

Thanks
