I have an old cheapy 19" CRT monitor. Apparently, it doesn't tell the OS that it's capable of 1600x1200 via EDID or whatever.
on my old computer, running winXP pro, and an ATI video card, i was able to use a program called powerstrip to create a custom monitor driver and add 1600x1200 @ 60Hz, and worked like a charm.
In my new computer, with Win Vista, and nVidia 8800 GTS, the advanced options in powerstrip are disabled. I've tried numerous things, including setting the monitor driver to "Super VGA 1600x1200", but it still doesn't list 1600x1200 anywhere...
Yes, I've unchecked the box that says "Hide unsupported modes" or whatever..
Do you guys have any suggestions?
Thanks for ANY help!
