Alright, this levitating lounge chair is just too damn cool. Don’t you think so?

Defying gravity with the use of repelling magnetic forces in both the bed and base this contemporary lounger is comfortable, practical and stylish. Permanent magnets can also help back, muscular problems and headaches, so our furniture not only looks good - it may make you feel good too.

Thats almost as cool as that bed I saw a looooooong time ago.

Platform bed with those magnets under it. Looked too kick ass.

Funny story about magnets. Long time ago I put my 1st xbox on a big ass subwoofer and couldnt figure out why for the life of me the system started glitching shortly after large bass heavy parts of games.....

Durrrrrrr

That chair looks like it can do more harm then good

Ouch looking, bet yet kewl on the hovering part.

definitely needs some upolstering with some velvet or leather.. THEN it will rock the house.. no no wait.. we need a levitating gaming chair and the electromagnetic polarity shifts in accordance with the type of game you are playing.. like playing Wipeout!!! Holy shit would that be so freakin cool

It needs some curves. No one wants to sit with their legs completely straight, and it's healthier to have a slight bend. I do agree about upholstering. You get the least bit sweaty and you'll probably slide off.

Give the skeleton some skin, 'eh?

yeah lets just hope the bed doesnt flip upside down and crush the sleepers with positive and negative magnetic forces.

So, if you have 2 of these in the same room, do they repel or attract. Repel might be good for the ole' lady...

Either they must have some crazy shielding on those magnets, or this is totally impractical for usage around almost any electronics.

Interesting for the levitation thing, not so much for the "magnet cure headaches" snakeoil thing.

Needs huge electromagnets on the floor section and the chair part to be entirely of a ferrous alloy and a remote control so you could raise yourself to the ceiling to do painting (think Sistine Chapel) while you bulk erased all the reel to reel tapes in that old box in the basement and made your neighbors TV screen go all weird. For a headache I recommend aspirin.

Looks cool but I would really like to know how much weight it supports.

That one gave me a headache.

"Hey baby, come on over and take a ride on my maglev chair..." :D
I thought of that, but it SO doesn't look comfortable for that kind of use.

Of course, I wonder if they have a posted weight limit before you overcome the repellent force of the magnets too...

What if someone (roommate, brother) decides while you're taking your uncomfortable nap to 'bump' the chair out of the field? Wait, that could be a new kind of alarm if they were electromagnets.

The chair is held in place at the arm wrest area sorta, it can still move up and down there freely, but it wont float away.

if it breaks and those magnets flip with part of you in between them you will be in serious trouble.

Looks more like a device you strap somebody to before cutting them to pieces. This will serial killer favorite! :D

Nope not at all. I just want to make sure it will hold the weight of the occassional fat chick I bring home to bang. :p :D

Hmm. In that case you better also find out how heavy the base is and make sure your floor will hold up.

Don't know why but I just LOLed at that post.:p

Oh really? Prove it. I call shenanigans.

"Can" being the operative word, if by "can" you mean "no evidence whatsoever." Ever. As in not ever.

I really wish marketing and sales people had to have at least some evidence behind their hucksterism.

* * *

Chair looks cool though. Not comfortable. Maybe a perfect place to store your robot sex slaves...

dam i was hoping this would levitate you off the chair, not just levitate a chair whit you on it

Considering most of your weight is from your butt to your head, I'd think that magnet in the back would have to be a monster.

Someone also brought up, "what if the arm rests snapped?" I can think of a playing kid or tripping adult doing that easily. Anyone that has seen what an unguided magnet does when it is place over like poles, knows that the result can be quite painful for the occupant at the time. That chair would flip over in a heartbeat, and if you're still on it (or a portion of you thereof), it will make you thoroughly pinned. Certainly magnets strong enough to keep you floating are also strong enough to hold you down quite strongly.

Also, magnetic strength is exponential depending on distance. The idea of "floating" is deceiving. The closer the opposing magnets get to each other, the stronger they are at repelling, and the same goes for attraction. This means the seat gets "harder" the closer the fields get to each other. No thank you, foam is potentially much softer in a consistent manner. Besides, the desired effect of comfort is to dissipate pressure by spreading it out, not increase it locally. Sorry, but metal springs would be more comfortable.

You can always tell when a designer makes something. It always looks cool, but very uncomfortable. Franklin Lloyd Wright made some magnificent homes and furnished them. Unfortunately, the furnishings were more appropriate for a museum, not a home with real people in them. The chairs were horrifically uncomfortable, yet totally cool looking.

Ergonomics is a science for a reason.

Will this increase the potential of my eternal life rings if used in combination with the lounge chair?

No, but it has a high-amplitude synergy relationship with Q-Ray Bracelets. Can also relieve shortness of breath when combined with a healthy intake of Oxygenated water.

Magnetic therapy is such a ridiculous joke that it's hard to believe anyone would be gullible enough to believe it. I guess there's a snakeoil for every generation.

Am I the only one that would buy it just to replace the permanent magnets in the base with electro-magnets?

Let someone you don't like sit in it, then reverse the polarity. Or remove the caps on top of the rails and increase the voltage an order of magnitude. :D
