Help me pick free A/V - Gamer

I am wandering around and doing tons of tweaking. I would like for the A/V Software to be quite "Gamer" Friendly and should not be slowing down the system at stupid gaming times...I know there some out there that are fairly good such as NOD32 and so on forth but I'm seeking free ones at the moment. All that comes to mind are;

Grisoft AVG Free
Avast
AntiVir

However I'm currently running AVG Free and I would like to know if any one of them offers any other benefits that's better than the others. Please do not include any other A/V softwares into the mix unless they are freeware and read not shareware.

I use Grisoft Malware with 2 years of subscription. It never fail me.

I really like NOD32 as far as paid AV goes, but I use AVG Free on my second PC and my laptop. I have used Antivir before, but I prefer AVG. It seems faster.

+1 for NOD32. It's getting repetitive, I know, but it's a great antivirus that uses little resources. All I can really say is to steer clear of Norton products.

And AVG Free might return false positives on some game .exe files, so make sure you keep it updated.

That's happened a couple times recently, and when it does, it dumps the .exe in the virus vault and makes the game unplayable sooo....

I haven't used it, but I hear Avast is pretty light and effective....

Use to have that problem till I stopped it from automatically healing files.

I know this is not your question, but Windows Live OneCare is an option. Sometimes you can find it on rebate for very close to free. It's one of my favorite solutions, but some would call me biased.

I tried avast and I thought it was slow and the interface is clumsy. I like avg works fine for me no problems at all.
