It has begun! Post your Q6600 Price finds here.

Fry's needs to hurry and build a store in southern Alabama. This place is booming! I always feel left out on the sweet Fry deals.

I'm waiting for one up here in Wisconsin, but I gotta feelin' it's gonna be a long wait.

Does anyone know if ClubIT.com will price match themselves if the price has dropped $15 before my CPU has even left California?

if anyone getting combo deal at Fry's today please let us know if you got G0 Stepping or not, thanks!

I'm on the phone with Frys right now and they are heading out to the cage to check...

OK he says he has more than 2 that are G0 stepping at the Wilsonville, OR location

will these Q6600 oc to 3.2Ghz easily?
I wouldn't say "easily"
Most Q6600's will get up to 3.2, but don't be terribly disappointed if you can't make it much beyond 3ghz, because some of them can't go any higher than that.

I have B3 Stepping and I had it 3.0Ghz @ 1.3V and 3.2Ghz @ 1.35V so 3.2Ghz is no problem if that all you want, I'm thinking of return B3 Stepping to Fry's and get G0 Stepping and hoping to get similar overclocking or maybe little better with lower temps :)

Man I am excited just to get a B3. My replacement E6400 that I've been using since October of last year has been the worst OC'ing Core 2 Duo I have ever heard of. 3.2ghz required 1.575v in the bios. I bet the Q6600 B3 will be cooler than my E6400 is at 3.2ghz!

I'm kind of pissed that I bought early at ClubIT. The estimated arrival date for me is like Thursday this week. This tiny little CPU has to travel cross-country (CA to NY) via smelly trucker's rig. *shudder* I'm still glad I actually nabbed one for the lower price, $295.

This weekend should be so sweet. So sweet.

It's pretty much a guarantee you won't get one from newegg anywhere near $270 for at least two weeks.
The Egg generally isn't the best place to buy cpu's....places like ZZF, Directron etc.. have lower prices usually.

Same thing here. According to FEDEX my CPU is still 25 miles from their warehouse and it left on Friday afternoon. I am about to call them and demand a price match on their current 280 pricetag since my CPU is within lunch-break-driving-distance of their warehouse.

ClubIT price matched their 280 price tag. If you bought your Q6600 for $295, call and get a credit back to your card.

Newegg adjusts prices based on supply and demand. They'll keep jacking it up until people stop buying it from them. Then they'll lower it just enough to get people to start buying it again. Once the Q6600 is no longer an "in demand" item the price will stabalize and it will be business as usual. As long as that chip is a hot item, the price will not be stabalized at new egg.

$375 at the Egg now. mWave still has it for $275 (more coming in on 7/25/08). That's the only thing about Newegg, they are sleezy like that. I give my business to companies that don't play that sleezy game. A company with amy morals would sell it for the price that they supposed to and just sell out, rather than risk pissing off their customers and they end up buying from other companies. I'm sure places like Mwave really appreciate the extra business though :)

Mine has already shipped from Mwave. Same day I ordered it. Newegg always takes 2 days to ship after I order it.

Well hopefully all that extra money they received will allow them to reduce prices on certain other items and put some more items on special sales. Well, I'm hoping for that anyways.

I still need myself a processor, video card and motherboard to finish my computer build.

I think I'll check fry's for the q6600 first, and if they're out, I'll be buying it & motherboard from mwave.

Mwave has them in stock now for $279. I just ordered one for $290 shipped 2 day air. They were previously OOS with a 7/25 eta, but I guess they came in early. I didnt want to wait for my q6700 to come in from costcentral, and if i do get it for the $350, I'm just gonna ebay it or something to get my money back
