Dell Censors Panel lottery info. Share info here.

I'm going to order this bi*** this weekend, I wanted to pick it up last month (got a '$125 for any purchase' b-day present), and it was jacked up to $399 the friggin day I went to order.

I really don't care what I get, as this CRT currently is filtering the video feed like its a filmstrip...and to think people pay good money to add this effect to movies  Anyways I'll definately give feedback on what type I get, how it is, etc.

Decided to play the lotto....and won!

S-IPS, sn# ends in L, RT803 Rev. A04 from Mexico. No dead or stuck pixels, No bleed.

ordered mine on the 11th (the day before the sale. Fortunately, I had a 15% off coupon...so basically it was the same price.), received it on the 13th (w/free shipping). It came out of Nashville.

Well I finally took the plunge today and ordered my 2007WFP. Lets hope for the best...

I'm excited though. Happy to not use my 15" laptop screen at college!

Wooohooo! Ordered on Sunday afternoon, opened package on Tuesday morning. Now that's what I call 3-5 day shipping. S-IPS, RT803, A04, Made in Mexico -- Flawless picture.

I was going to order Sunday afternoon, but I didn't until yesterday afternoon. Hopefully I will still get as lucky as you.

Well I live in North Texas so its not like they had to ship it very far. They literally delivered the package 2 hours after I received their email stating the monitor had been shipped.

Be sure to keep us updated on the panel.

Oh I will. Were your tracking numbers visible? I just get "Data Temporarily Unavailable" so I have no idea when it will come.

In the initial email they sent me stating my order was confirmed, I clicked on the order number. On the right hand side under shipping information, it listed DHL on mine with the tracking number. I noticed my tracking number looooong before they sent an email letting me know it was shipped and I couldn't find any other way to see the #.

Hope this helps.

I see shipped by DHL and a waybill number... is that the tracking number? If so, that number doesn't get me anything on the DHL site and it was shipped Monday so it should be in the system by now.

Well unfortunately for me, Dell said the monitor shipped out on Monday but it seems the reason I couldn't track my package via the waybill number is because DHL didn't pick up the package until today. This means I probably won't get it until Monday :(

Hopefully its worth the wait and I get a flawless S-IPS panel!

Sounds like an excuse to me. I know Michael Dell has been busy and he probably didn't even finish building monitor till yesterday. Michael.doesn't.rush

i ordered my 2 2007wfp june 20th. got them in 3 days. good service since i order from dell small business. i didn't know about the different versions until recently. i wanted to get 2 of the 2407, but over my budget.

anyway, it seems like i have the PM330, A04, made in mexico May 2007, both really clear, no dead pixels. it does get a little warm on top, but not hot enough to make me worry.

i've read pretty much all the posts here, and there is just so much info i actually got lost in thought. now, what exactly is the difference with the 2 panel types? because the one i have looks very clean and crisp. colors are beautiful, don't really see a color shift. even when looking at extreme angles. blacks are black. i haven't calibrated it yet, just factory, but it looks pretty good. if the S-IPS panels are supposed to be better, then they must be amazing, because the PVA ones i got are pretty much excellent.

Ordered my 2007WFP the 15th, was at my door the 17th (but I wasn't home! they require you to be present), shipped from Ohio.

S-IPS, sn# ends in L, RT803 Rev. A04 from Mexico.

No dead/stuck pixels when displaying pure RGBs, shows that color gradient better than my crt (dark blues have 4-5 slight bands)

I guess I shoulda did the measuring better, its the same height as my old 17" mitsu, but only wider and sharper, and no terribly loud "buuummmzzzzzzzz" noise when turning on. It had superbright mode, but this lcd can get almost as bright too. I also have a shait-load more room, that old crt was a MONSTER!

In short, I am happy.

So i emailed my contact at the small business department at dell whom i ordered my monitors from. I asked him about the different panels and if he knew which ones i got. I an email an hour later back from him saying "My understanding is currently Phillips is providing panels for these monitors to the spec listed on the web." I don't know how reliable that is. so i'm still wondering which panel i really do have. i doesn't matter because they look great, but all these posts got me curious.

Ordered one... er, yesterday, 8am. It arrived today, noon. No complaints there for the free shipping option. :) The saleslady on the phone noted that I'm extremely close to their shipping center, so it'd be fast, but... damn.

It's an A04, ends in L, made in Mexico... seems to be an S-IPS as far as I can tell. I'll be checking the panel info in a minute.

edit: RT803 in service menu. woot.

edit 2: and yeah, re: the guy below me, my panel was also made in june. it's being compared side by side to a 226BW on my desk, and the 22" isn't faring too well in the comparo. partially that i suck at calibrating it, and partially that it needs to be calibrated at all. :D

hm, most people are getting IPS ones, except xsincerex, who also got a made in mexico a04 panel, so thats odd that he got a PVA, maybe he got ones from an older batch or something, since everyone ordering now is getting IPS (maybe june is the IPS month, and now that july has come they have made in june panels instead of made in may).

Well I'm glad you guys had good experiences with fast shipping. I ordered early on the 16th, Dell said it shipped that day, but DHL didn't pick it up until today :( I have to wait until Monday now. Mine shipped from TN, but that seems weird since there is a warehouse in Ohio that is closer to NY... oh well...

Where is the date listed?

Maybe the warehouse in Ohio is out of stock and they set you up with one in TN since you got in touch with them. I'm sure several packages are NY-bound every day so its weird that Dell had the monitor ready but DHL didn't pick up until 2 days after. Just... strange.

I never contacted Dell...

I'm secretly hoping that DHL's package tracking just sucks and is slow to update so I get the monitor before the weekend :p

Doubt it though...

Just got mine. Made in Mexico, A04, RT803. July 2007, S-IPS :)
Unfortunately it has a group of 3 pixes together that are dead. :(
Going to try to get it swapped.

Well my monitor was delivered today! Its currently sitting at home, waiting for me to open it. I will report back later.

aaand its an RT803 S-IPS!!! Manufacture date of July 2007!

I looked and it quickly and it looks pretty good, but I'll have to test it tomorrow night to see if there are any pixel problems.

So this thread has completely died after my postings...

Final report:

RT803, Rev A04, Made in Mexico, July 2007. Serial # ends in L

Flawless panel - no stuck or dead pixels. I am thrilled! :)

My A04 S-IPS actually has dead pixels come and go all over the place, I can fix them with a slight touch, but mostly I don't bother because they are so small and barely detectable. It is odd that they appear and dissapear, at times I have probably had 6 or more.
