my suggestion....keep saving. you got a ways to go m8. if you want an 8800gts, e6300, and 2gb corsair... thats 600-700 right there maybe. you also need a psu, case, cd/dvd drive, hdd, keyboard/mouse, speakers...etc. I suggest you get the money first then ask. By the time you get the money there will be more options available anyway. Thats my 2 cents

Sweet,i just ordered the c2d,i got a huge asus case and a thermaltake 500w so thatll do but i just need a few donations and im also selling my unlocked rom102 this week so im inching ever closer
''Bowser:)

Not to be mean or anything, but how are you inching ever closer to buying a 8800gts and 2gb corsair dominator RAM, and have $0 in your funds (you just stated u got ur e6300, psu/case) EIther way I think its a little pathetic to be begging for donations on the internet. I feel for you though, I was at that age and wanted all the high-end stuff too, but without a job or any real income than it is difficult. What you can do is save, and plan to make a cheaper system (your desired parts are ridiculous if you are short on cash) If you are low on money than you could easily go with a MUCH CHEAPER setup, than your planned video card and ram.

Yeah man, save your cash. And be extremely frugal when it comes to purchases. Read some reviews first and make sure that the part you want is worth the money.

well,i had the psu and the case from my shit pc lol and all i ordered was the c2d,i may go with a gefore 7900 or 8600 to drop the cost a bit,and maybe a gig of ram to start off,i dont have intentions to bother people im just desperate lol,i cant mowe lawns because their is snow here and not a feasable amount to shovel for $ so im stuck between a rock and a hard place
Thanks guys

also i am extremely frugal,i read every review and spec sheet out their:)

Your shit pc has a PSU that you can use with a 7000/8000 series graphics card? Pretty nifty lol

I'd return the CPU you bought. The prices on CPUs will drop in late April and since you don't have a complete computer, it's pointless to waste money on one now just to use it as a paper weight. Why are you going after a 6300? A 4300 is plenty fast and will save you money (which is what you should be doing). A 4300 is also very overclockable so better bang for your buck.

E4300 for $113 (late april)
EPoX EP-5P945C LGA 775 Intel 945P ATX Intel Motherboard - $70
eVGA 7900 GS - $140
1 GB DD2 667 Mhz Memory = around $60
xClio 500W PSU - $50 (if your current PSU isn't 400W or better)
Free Ultra Case after $40 mail in rebate
80 GB 7200 RPM hard drive - $42
DVD rom - $19

That will run you about $500. Make sure you get stuff that is compatible. Don't waste money on the newest and best when your budget is so tight. Get the most you can get for your money and unless there's a great deal, don't buy before you can actually finish the computer because prices usually drop.

well their had got to be a downside to the e4300 because its cheaper then the e6300:),anyone here mind donating 5$?

It's not quite as good as the 6300 but you should be more interested in the cost to performance ratio. Save the $70.

Saving $70 is more effective than trying to gain $5 from internet posters.

Do you really think people will send you money?

Disadvantages of 4300
- Smaller cache (2 MB rather than 4 MB)
- no virtualization (just means you can't run 2 OS's at the same time, doubt that matters)
- FSB reduced to 800 MHz (overclocking can overcome that though)

Why overclockers love the E4300
- 9.0x multiplier

To hit the 3.0GHz mark for instance, the E4300 needs an FSB speed of just 333.5MHz. In comparison, Intel’s previous budget Core 2 CPU, the E6300, requires an FSB speed of 429MHz

Out of the box, E6300 is better but the E4300 can be easily overclocked to make it almost as good. The cache is about the only thing I don't think you can get past but that's not worth $70 in my opinion, especially if money is tight. I have a little bit more to spend but I'm not getting a 6300 when I build my computer next month after the price drop.

Here are SysMark 2004SE scores
Standard E6300 - 254
Standard E4300 - 245

Overclocked E4300 - 366 (running at 3.38 GHz)

I wouldn't overclock near that much without buying cooling but that shows the power that you can get with an E4300.

i read every review and spec sheet out their:)

well their had got to be a downside to the e4300 because its cheaper then the e6300:),anyone here mind donating 5$?

what are the exact disadvantages?

You are definately contradicting yourself. If you truely "read every review and spec sheet out their" than you should know the suttle differences of the different cpus to know that the extra performance the e6300 gets you isnt enough to warrant the extra price when you are low on cash. Honestly, to me you seem very "uprofessional" about begging for money (somewhat ironic? lol) and I will definately not be donating to you. Sorry but life is tough. You may just have to wait and save your money like I did when I was younger. Good luck.

Frugal my ass, buying that Asus case and Thermaltake PS screwed you from the start. Return everything.

It's almost spring. Get out there and mow some lawns. I had my first PC done when I was 13 by doing just that.

You really jumped the gun buying the CPU when it's not goint to be used for another year or so. Also, don't set unrealistic goals. If you've been reading up on technology lately, surely you should know that you can get a better bang for your buck. Asking for donations isn't really the way to go. It's tough earning money, i know, but we all have to; plus it will give you incentive to spend your money wisely.

With 0$ in the kitty, i don't think you're really in the position to be picking out your parts especially when, by the time you come to building it, there'll be a whole new range of goodies. I suggest: spend some time saving up, then come here with some realistic goals with parts that are within your price range. Sorry if i've sounded a little harsh, but you're not really taking on this ambition with the correct perspective. If you can, return that E6300 and get your money back; by the time you come to building this rig (you are building it, right?) there'll be something better for a fraction of the price.
