The VIGOR GAMING CLT-M2I 92mm Thermal Electric CPU Cooler I really want to be my next CPU cooler. Reviews on it are pretty good, and I really like the idea of having an LCD type display in the front of my computer with temperature readouts, etc. Does anyone have experience with this cooler? Looks nice.

Also, in case I decide to go with something cheaper (because this thing does cost more than a pretty penny), is there any type of display type gadgets you can put in a 5.25" drive like this cooler has that will display temps? Perhaps even more than just the CPU, like the GPU, Harddrives, ambient temps, etc. etc. Thanks for the input

I heard the titan amanda was better since it runs more quietly than the vigor. Overclockers.com also has a review of the Ultra Chilltec too.

Just throwing out other TEC coolers for you to research.

Watercooling is higher maintainence, takes up more space and still doesn't cool as good as TEC (sub ambient.)

People are hard on these MACS TEC's because they're only 5W Peltiers, but they really do have them dialed in. I've tried to tweak them with more power, etc. but usually the Pelt just overheats and quits working. Fact is, right out of the box they really can keep your CPU between 20 and 35C and all in one easy to mount unit.

So you're recommending a peltier cooler than I assume?

If your considering this I would go with the Titan Amanda and save money. Its just as good as the others, if not better and does not have the sound problems that one of them has that drives people crazy.

The only thing your losing out on is a useless LED that reports inaccurate temps. $100 for the amanda is like $30.00 more then a Tuniq-120 and a good fan for it. So thats a good deal for air-cooling. Once you hit the $150 and up range it makes more sense to go water imo.

According to Virtual-Hideout, the Chill-TEC still performed better than the Titan Amanda, so you do get what you pay for.

I don't necessarily agree that once you're > $150 then water cooling is a more viable option. Unless of course you're using a TEC to cool your water. NOW you're talking. ;) That's my next move. But then you're also talking about increasing the margin of error on installation and maintainence and that was my only point in my last post.

i know this is an old thread, but is there any software that comes with this, or anything the community would recommend to get this to work better / stay on more often.

EDIT:

in using speedfan it says speed2 and speed4 are 49% and 13% respectively. how do i know which fan is which; how can i fix this?

Somewhere in speed fan is options to change the generic lables just keep looking.

Carefully stick a pencil in one of the fans for a minute to take its rpm to zero and see which reading responds. Careful or you could break a fan blade. Maybe just rubbing a finger on the blades to slow them should work also. Neither fan is spooled up to a high speed so it should not be a problem, just slow one down drastically any safe way you can think of as you watch speedfan.
