maxtor 320gb SATA HD $80 shipped

This is an older model....and is 150 only.

But honestly that does not matter, no SATA drive even takes full advantage of 150 yet, let alone 300.
 
Does any one know if this one is quieter than the WD or Seagate?
I'm building a quiet PC and and I cant afford to pass this one up.

From the model number, it's a maxline 3 series. Not sure if it's quieter, but you could maybe find a review to tell you, or check spcr.com. afaik samsung make the quietest drives.

from experience maxtor drives are relatively loud compared to other manufacturers. the exception being the rebadged seagate drives of course.
 
in for one...decent find...putting this in my $40 (after MIR) Sonata II case that I found in this forum...going into an HTPC so I don't mind it being a bit loud (or a Maxtor for that matter...I prefer WD and Seagate). I think this'll do the job :)
