What is fasttrack 378

It's a third party RAID controller made by Promise Technologies. It allows you to implement a RAID using IDE hard disks.

Promise makes some of the best "true" hardware raid implementations for a pc imo.. I haved used many promise fasttrack controllers and they're very easy to work with plus very reliable. I wish they put those on newer mobos instead of that SI controller. that thing is crap.

Yeah my previous computer had that exact same RAID controller. I used it for years without a hitch and I got very good performance.

I ended up getting a PCI RAID card with the same Promise controller. Easy to use even on PCI bus. Performed well too.

it should be part of your power-on post screen options.. like hit CTRL + M or something to go into the Promise RAID bios.. then make sure the drives you want to use in the new array are on that controllers connectors.. then use the auto setup functions for raid0, 1, or 0+1... I am not sure that supports raid5.. anyways.. you can probably find some docs on their site for that controller.. google is your friend. :)
