anyways my girlfriend hates video games but took a slight intrest in the sims so id go that way

My girlfriend is a gamer too but she wouldn't get upset about someone referring to girls as chicks, and its definetly not the same as the N word, lighten up
 
wow, this is so old that I already have a new girl who i've been dating for over a year. however I learned that some emulators on XBMC was the best choice, they both enjoyed it.

I have a good number of friends that play Sims1/2 and a good number that hate it (girls and guys). Like mentioned before in this thread its all dependent on what the person likes in a game. I

To LadyJaqie: How do you know he wasn't talking about children? The definition of "chick" is as follows.
1.
  1. <LI type=a>A young chicken.
  2. The young of any bird.
  3. A child.
  4. Slang. A girl or young woman.
His sentence is in the correct context the way he used it.

Calling "a girl or young woman" a "chick" is not a disparaging toward a certain ethnicity as the "n" word is to blacks (African Americans).

Some of the attitudes in this thread are exactly why a lot of girls don't game. There are far more hardcore girl gamers than most of you would even begin to suspect.

I agree. My wife is one of them. Though not much multiplayer. But She plays a mean hand of obvlivion, NWN and several other RPG titles. The one game she does play MP in is the original NOLF with an all girl clan. Teamspeak and any type of voice chat pretty much ruined MP for her, and me too. There's no more of a beatdown than playing with 13-19 year olds and having to chat with em'. The old in-game texting was much better - that way you didn't have to know immediately how retarded/stupid they were.
 
The SIM's almost definitely, might want to try out some of the Tycoon games if you think she might like creative+management, the most recent management game I got into was Resturant Empire, that was a while back and should run on a low end rig just fine.
