check the thread on xs about this. half the guys that called zzf are told that all c2d are pre order, there are zero in the warehouse, the other half are told that all are in stock, even backorders will be shipped today or tomorrow.

Why 3PM, i thought it was midnight?

3PM which time zone? I start work at 3PM CST, and owudl be wicked pissed if these came in stock while i was at work

I think it is for availability, as well as shipping...Could be on a holding time.

Personally; I find this to be exciting..At the same time; a kick to the pants...Some might know what I mean..Other might not know.

I'm guessing that the products where put up on the website and not supposed to be made "public" until 3pm. But somebody found it and we got in early. I doubt there will be anything at 3 other than a big announcement saying they're out of stock

You could find them simply by searching for core 2 duo, so if they werent meant to be found, they didnt hide them real well
 
In for later this sucks donkey nuts! I'm out of town and only have dial up :(

There is no way for me to sit and look for availability...

I never said they were hidden well :p
But why plan a big release at 3 and have everything online, but not real public at 12:30. I doubt this is what they wanted, but we've already established the monkey ran TD.
 
Be careful of the Monarch build. It was easy for me to get the mobo/ram/cpu all together (and the price was fine), but they're likely not sending it any time soon. They've changed the online listing several times in the last 24 hours, so I'd wait for them to actually get Conroe in stock and list a true ship date before doing anything there.
I jumped on their item early and think I might've gotten burned.
 
As most saw, MicroCenter was promoting availability on July 27th for the X6800.

As of 12 noon Pacific time at the Santa Clara, CA MicroCenter:

- They got 40 in for sale today (make that 39...I walked out with one)
- All are OEM X6800 - no retail / boxed versions
- Price was $1299 (but you can get it same day with $0 shipping and it's in stock...)
- They expect another shipment in on Monday
- The others (63-6700 and retail) will be in during the next 1-2 weeks, depending on customs.
- There were more store employees and intel marketing folks than customers at the store
- Oh, and they have lots of blue and white balloons.

Glad I was planning to water cool...would suck to get the chip and have to scramble for a fan and HS last minute.
 
Anyone know when retails will post the updated prices on the pre Conroe line up of chips? IIRC it was supopsed to come into effect a few days ago. I want to pick up a Cedar Mill P4 and dump this poor 256k cache Celeron.
 
Just ordered a E6300 from tiger direct. they have 3 left now.

my E6300 ordered today at 10:48am PST from tigerdirect is showing shipped right now.
 
OK intel sucks balls and buisness, Availibility is rediculess on launch. >__> SOme launch, good going intel. This really hurts. :rolleyes: Need cpus now not 6 years from now.

Availability, how can they be available if they haven't launched yet, is it the 7th yet? Only the Extreme one officially launched right? Besides the few stores that accidently shipped other core 2 duos before updating with the 7th for ship date after intel told them to.

For God's sakes stop it already, launched yesterday, today, next month, who cares anymore. People are going to get their Conroes eventually and they will be happy with them. This thread was supposed to be about where to buy them, not how you can't buy them because of X reasons.

Somebody let me know when the dickswing contests are over so I can come back and get useful information.

They had a promotion page about it...also note that they will most likely be available on the 4th but won't ship till the 7th.

i was wondering if any of the guys who ordered from the couple places that had conroe "in stock", and got confirmation emails received a cpu yet?or were the places like td actually just taking pre-orders?

I don't know about TD, which was all OEM right now. But places like ClubIT that I ordered from says on the page they are taking preorders for the amount they have instock at their warehouse, but won't be able to ship until the 7th. So many places may have it instoc, but just can't ship yet since Intel tells them to wait for the 7th.

EDIT, just checked ClubIT again and they removed that text and just says preorder but still has a check for instock, atleast for the e6400 I looked at.

Nope - very few have the 6600's in stock. I've called tons of places today and they said they are waiting to get the E6600's in. Most of them had at least the E6300/E6400's in stock though and would do pre-orders.

This makes me worry. TankGuys just emailed me and they said they will have their E6300/E6400's in Wednesday and hope to have the E6600's in by the end of the week. I sure hope so!

Tiger Direct been selling OEM E6600 with 1 Year warranties if you buy a Heatsink. That's OK for an E6300 but I'd not trust spending more than that and missing out on two more years of coverage.
 
i wish monarch would get them in stock. granted i would take off the stock HSF and put either a Ninja or a Zalman 9500AT on it, but gotta love some 'free schwag'

I got my last (current) mobo-cpu combo from them because of the freebies (FarCry, and Half-Life 2)

ANy other e-tailer do the combo stuff?
 
Hmm, I just checked my e-mail and got a shipping notice for my ClubIT order that my order is shipped and will arrive on the 2nd. THe package is 35lbs with a case, cpu and dvd burner. They listed all the items in the shipping e-mail so I assume this means my Retail E6400 is in the box.

Though, it kind of sucks. I thought I had to wait for the 7th so I haven't even ordered my mobo, ram and other stuff yet.

EDIT: I noticed once I clicked the link to track the shipping the Fed Ex page showed two packages, one being 35lbs and another being 5lbs. So it could be just the Case and Drive being shipped, but they don't clearly state what has shipped other than my order has shipped with the entire order listed in the e-mail. It's possible the case box was put in a bigger box with the DVD burner in it and the CPU shipped separate to keep it from being crushed, but probably not.

E6600 is available from the Intel Employee Purchase Program website for $170 :D
Shipping is free. Delivery date is on September 2006.
