I have a level 8 Rogue woohoo go me! And i was wondereing where do i go to get trained in the other weapons? So far i have the ability to use a dagger and thats it. Can i use other weapons? If so what? when? and who trains me? Thanks!

Weapon Masters in the main cities. If you are Horde: Orgrimmar, Thunderbluff, Undercity.

weapon master thats what it was =) . Thanks alot =). Does anyone know what else i can train as a rogue and when

Every 2 levels theres usually some new skills/spells that become available to learn. So levels 2, 4, 6, 22, 48, etc. every even numbered level usually grants access to new skills.

You'll need to visit a Rogue trainer to purchase the new skills. They can be found in most major cities like Stormwind, Ironforge etc.

A good spot to find other rogue info is the Rogue forums on the WoW website. They even have a few FAQs stickied: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/board.aspx?fn=wow-rogue

Not that it will matter much but you have to be lvl 10 in order to learn new weapons. You can't learn every weapon as a rogue. It will cost you 10s to learn which you probably barely have.

Rogues can use one-handed maces and swords. I don't think they can use axes, but correct me if I am wrong. Not to mention some ranged weapons you can get trained on.

Stick with daggers as much as you can. Some of your special moves require you to use a dagger. At lvl 10 you get dual wield, which helps out alot. Also, after lvl 10 never buy any equipment from the venders, always go to the Auction House. You will get better equipment for a better price.

Rogues can use 1h swords, 1h maces, daggers, and fist weapons. Daggers allow rogues to use moves like backstab, but the damage on them is paltry. If you wanna do the most damage, spec into the combat tree and stick the slowest weapon with the highest damage per hit you can find in your main hand. Then stick a really fast weapon in your offhand.

I think daggers and backstab are great for instances. You are still going to be the main damage dealer next to a mage, but you wont do so much damage that you are constantly taking hate off of the main tank. And the priests will love you for that.

Don't listen to this guy, he has absolutely no idea what he's talking about. Every time I do an instance run dagger rogues are always at the top and combat rogues are significantly below them. His idea of "paltry" damage is 1,600-1,700 damage ambushes on cloth wearers.

Exactly. Backstab can be very useful in an instance. In general combat, I usually garrote the enemy, but in an instance, you're usually going through enemies so fast that instant damage is better than higher DoT. Daggers usually strike a bit faster allowing you to slow a caster down more.

A good paladin with judgment of fury and seal of command can hold aggro on a single enemy like no tomorrow.
But then it becomes a lot of luck. If SoC doesn't proc he won't be able to hold aggro. The only absolutely reliable tank is a warrior (hence why they're the only ones to tank tough mobs and bosses).

Yeah, for some reason tanks don't hold aggro well since this last patch. I'm tearing everything off them.

This has started pissing me off. Im he highest lvl in my instance group usually (lvl 24 warrior) and a priest healing me pulls like every single guy off.

Also, a mage sheeping one guy will also pull the mob off.

It's starting to piss me off, since the priest has to run away, I have to run after everyone all the time.

Your in idiot.

Rogues need DPS=Fastest weapon. Also, backstab does 150% at lower lvls, with a good crit hit, you can easily get over 150 damage with them.

Stick with a dagger in main hand, and a sword in offhand. ALways go for the fastest weapons, when you can, go for the weapons UNDER 2.0 speed, never go over 3.0

A good sword is the blackwater cutlass, in deadmines

I'm sorry, but you are the idiot it seems. You obviously have no clue how to play your class. First of all, all your special attacks are ISNTANT, meaning you want to be using a slow weapon with top end damage. Sinister strike doens't take weapon delay in account, as it is instant. The higher the top end damage is, the more you will hit for. Thus, you want a SLOW weapon with high damage. Furthermore, if you understood how attack power effects weapons, you would understand it is better to have a slower weapon than a faster weapon. And finally, suggesting a rogue to use daggers for leveling up is stupid. Simply stupid. It is much much easier and faster to use sword/maces when leveling, and stick with sinister strike as opposed to backstab. At the low levels especially, backstab is horrible for leveling as you don't have the talents to make it crit , and give a good amount of combo points. Overall though, shoot for a mace/sword which is as slow as possible. 2.7 delay is a good thing to shoot for. This is why the Thrash blade is such a good rogue weapon, nice and slow sword!

thanks for all the help guys. Lots of info in here now lol. last thing...where are the auction houses. Cuz my crappy knife does like 4-7 dmg lol, Im still running around the starting point. Im looking forward to dual wielding. Can i duel wield 2 different weapons? and if so whats the best combo?

Except you cant use backstab (and a few others) without a dagger in your mainhand.

Mainhand: Dagger with high damage

Offhand: Dagger withhigh DPS

err, are you kidding me? Rogues are very high powered.

Pls, they are they king of ganks.

I consider Rogues more deserving of a nerf then shamans

there was a thread with people posting that awhile back. do a search and bump it back up

I eat rogues for breakfast and I'm a hunter:) Shadow tracking for the win!

But no, you didn't pick the wrong class. If you get the jump on them and they didn't see you you can own them. And I'm on the Mannoroth PvP server.

um u could right now i think, via the boats. u wont have to go into enemy territory, but u will have to go into contested areas for a bit.

Which might as well be enemy territory for him at such a low level as he will get ganked in an instant.

i went to ironforge at level 10 druid.

i made level 10 today. I got a talent point? lol didnt even know these existed. So im going to have to go read up on these. I went to a new place today and got into a contested area, got scared and ran. Their were to many level 12-15 creatures i cant kill those yet. GOing to test out these duel wields and see how they work out. And as far as learning the other weapons, its expensive so im going to wait a little bit. And can someone tell me how i use poisons on my daggers? where i get them and when i can use them? thanks for all the [H]elp guys!

If it's bad come to Stormscale server. home of the [H]ard|Guild

especially since you're only lvl 10.

edit: I noticed you joined the guild forum :) If you decide to make a char, message me (Seleste).

poisons are learned at 20. as you make poisons, your skill goes up, and as your skill goes up, you can learn more as your train.

Did you read my post? That doesn't matter. There is no way a dagger is possibly better than a sword/mace for PvE leveling.
