$9 DVD-RW from Office Max

I never though I'd see the DVD burners drop to this price this soon. :cool: To all rhose people out there who don't even have a DVD-rom yet you no longer have an excuse. ;)
 
The box has a Toshiba SD-R5112 burner in it and it comes with Nero Express 6 OEM Suite 1. It's a decent 4x DVD-R burner and it can do SafeDisc 2.90 backups.

I bought one last week ($19.99AR) and got a price match a couple of days ago. It's a really good deal.

To pass on a $10 4x DVD drive and get a $70 8x burner instead is retarded. Not calling you retarded, but this is the best deal yet on a DVD burner, and maybe the best we'll see in quite a while.

I don't give a shit if it is single speed. $9 for any DVD writer is a hot deal. I ordered one. Also ordered some blanks but they are OOS, so I'm probably going to end up with a writer and nothing to write. The only place in town I could get some blanks is walmart, and I would rather wait for them than buy them at walmart.

U damn skippy. ;) Hell it would be worth $10 if it was just a DVD-rom combo drive.
(DVD-rom + CD-RW). I paid a hella lot more than that ($30) for a combo drive for my kids computer.

Might be a good deal, but not worth the money to me, I have better things to spend $49 on.

dont flame the guy for giving a nice tip. if someone wants a DVD-R drive they get it for $9. If you dont want it then just move on to the next thread

Shit. Where did you see a 25pack for 9.99? The cheapest I could find was $15 and that one is backordered.

edit: found it. I guess I'm going to have to try to cancel my other one.

edit2: Those $9.99 ones are rated for 2.4X. Has anyone had any luck burning 2.4X media at 4X?

It is $49 with a $40 mail-in rebate, bringing it down to $9 in the end.
 
who can recommend a sofware for backing up dvds? I have dvd decript, i can copy to my hd but then what do I do to compress to 4.7gb ?
