Hehe... It seems to me that I cannot measure the external drive temperature through USB. Does anybody know some ways to measure temperature through USB?
Can somebody advise a method (perhaps a software) that can be used to measure the temperature of a drive in an external enclosure? (The drive is WD 1TB in a WiebeTech ToughTech FS case)
One more question. Can somebody recommend a program to measure the temperature of this drive? Is it possible to measure the temperature with such program when the drive is in an external case?
That's interesting. I read in a review of this drive at newegg that the capacity is 953 GB and I only see 931 GB....that's why I am puzzled a bit:confused:
Excellent info. Thanks.
It's really interesting, the Antec enclosure drops about 10C of the temperature which is obviously due to the cooling system (circulating the air with a fan.) http://www.silentpcreview.com/article728-page3.html
I mean the interesting part is this...
Maybe this is a bit dumb question....I was wondering, can this Western Digital Caviar RE2 WD5000ABYS hard drive be used for external storage in a Wiebetech ToughTech FS enclosure? I mean I know they are compatible but I am not sure whether the hard drive is suitable for external storage.
Hard...
