Update: So it turns out it wasnt the motherboard but hell, its still EVGA's fault (prolly not but whatever). The issue were the EVGA chipset drivers. Now I am just using whatever Win7 defaulted to and nooooo issues, smooth sailin. Interesting issue, but all solved.
thanks IT shiro, also, do most full towers have their front port and mobo connectors long enough for comfortable hiding? if not, are their extensions for these?
yeah ive decided finding a cookie cutter guide isnt gonna work, gonna use the ol take the time n effort n do it right. I have unfortunately found out, however, that I have a C0 chip not a D0...which sucks. but thats life!
UPDATE:
I got the 5870 and let me tell you, I have fallen back in love with my machine. I am pushing nearly 100fps in raid with settings cranked. For those of you who said it wouldnt make much difference, let me tell you, that card made a HUGE difference. Thanks again all, any other wow players...
while I appreciate the replies, the subject in question has not been touched. should i just delete this post, or hold out for some answers relative to this thread? :\
The question isnt what case to buy (i want the antec 1200, sorry), it is what extension cables I will need to have my cables...
oh sorry, i didnt make it clear. i own all of that stuff EXCEPT the case.
mainly wanting to know what i might in need ADDITION to the case itself. or any full tower case, for that matter
EDIT: by the way the 1200 is down to $150 + a free 500gb hdd right now :p
Hey all,
So I have been building computers for about 8 years, but never have really gotten into modding or doing proper cable management in my cases. Now that I have more components, a little more time and money, and urge to make my stuff look all purdy and achieve better cooling, I want to get...
well we will see if it is the number of usb devices (i doubt, its only 4 and a hub that rarely has anything plugged into it) or the motherboard come friday when my RMA comes in!
Ya I found some guides. Think I messed up my ram volts on the 3.8 so I defaulted bios n did a 3.6 with my new found knowlege. That thing is purrin like a kitten @3.6. I may up it later but .2 difference is meh. Ran Prime95 for 12hrs n all is well!
The best part about these forums is the noob...
very easy setup. just make sure you follow the directions to a T!
I also just overclocked my i7 920 to 3.8ghz and in game, in raid not breaking 55C, not bad i think...
to update everyone:
I bought a 5870. I couldnt help it. Im sorry, i know its overkill, but Im a hardware nerd.
That being said my next 2 projects are: breakdown and get an SSD eventually, but more immediate is overclocking. I just bout a Corsair h50 watercooled heatsink (that things AWESOME...
there is lag when a button is held, AND while typing.
updaaaaaaaaaaaate. so its probably not hardware. command prompt pre-windows it types fine. so its gotta be windows/other software...so what now LOL
Hello all,
Recently I did some cable management on my system, and upon boot up, I noticed some keyboard lag. Ever since then it has been driving me crazy. Let me throw out some attempts I tried:
Reformatted, tried multiple usb ports, tried multiple usb keyboards (all other usb peripherals...
