Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.

Hi all!
ASUS MAXIMUS IV EXTREME-Z mobo issue that is killing me!
I woke up this morning, turned on my PC (after shutting down last night with no issues at all), and was treated to a usual startup, and then a message stating "Updating iROG firmware now! DO NOT unplug or turn off power..."...
As already said, depends on what you want as an end result. If glossy, go with the wetsanding (add a little dishsoap to make the sandpaper glide more smoothly), and if a matte or satin finish is desried, just go with the sand, prime, and paint approach.
While I think it totally depends on...
I used Tremclad matte black for the interior (different gloss levels are available). It's designed for pretty extreme conditions (such as for outdoor metal furniture). I gave the frame a good cleaning and sanding prior to applying the Tremclad.
In terms of strictly matching Krylon to...
I recently (more or less) did whole case using a couple techniques (the worklog can be found here):
1. Metal Exterior Panels - Sand, sand, sand. Automotive primer. Red Krylon Fusion. Sand. Paint. Sand. Paint. Clear coat.
2. Plastic Exterior Panel (front bezel) - Sand. Fill (OR use a...
Okay (again, note that my electronics knowledge is scarce), could I "bridge" the two grounds together into a single ground? I.E. could I simply run a wire from the ground that is, well, grounded, to the empty hole onthe connector, and ground both "holes" to one ground? Obviously, I'd need to...
I am currently putting together (whoops, attempting to put together) a standalone cooling solution for an entertainment cabinet. It currently houses a bunch of components, including my HTPC, and I am unhappy with the warm air I feel wafting out from the shelving unit.
Here's what my original...
It's nice to see good craftsmanship and "fit and polish" on an mdf case. While the "real" wood cases are gorgeous, the ease of working with mdf is often overlooked. As always, I'm interested in seeing how the finish turns out on an mdf base.
Looks awesome so far. Great work!
While I am no expert modder (and others will provide more experience), I have used stright up bolts through drilled holes (see my build here - using the same mesh that you are using).
You could also use double-sided tape - the 3M stuff sold by performance-pcs holds substantial weight, and has...
If you can find it, any Krylon Fusion paint would likely work out better for the plastic bezel than vinyl dye: you'll get a nicer finish in terms of consistency and coverage. The Fusion brand can be applied to metal or platic (but it has been designed for plastic).
I haven't tried Tremclad...
@ Viperlover:
That is one sweet keyboard! Also, you may be missing that number 3 key... but I lost the damn up arrow, and had to replace it with the one from my kb... and until now, I never realized how much I used the damn arrows!
@ Arcygenical:
You had a painting tutorial that I...
