Well, the connectors on SATA drives and mobos are much more fragile than on the PATA drives and ports. They could be an order of magnitude (10x) stronger with a simple change, but IDK if any of the HD companies do it.

No significant cooling thru the case. Several tests have been done on cases of the identical design: one in aluminum and one in steel (Chenming Dragon design, IIRC) and there was no significant difference with identical components.
BTW, what did you choose OP?

Well, I remembered some - edited into my early message with more here. The K10 doesn't have a window, but it may be replaceable with a standard Lian Li windowed side panel as it's made by Lian Li. Unf. the windowed side panel with the L-L name will cost about a third the price of the K10. OTOH...
The mobo tray will be the hardest to come up with. Since 120mm fans became a requirement, trays have gone the way of the dodo. One of the few that has one for a reasonable price is the Ultra m998, but it lacks a door. There are a few with trays that come out thru the right side rather than a...
It's not clear what you intend to do. But yes, as long as metal to metal contact is good you should get conduction. Of course, soldering would be better, but wrapping can work temporarily.

generically called Health Monitoring software. Quite a few out there and another recently showed up at MajorGeeks.com within the last week or so - they host most of the other free ones too. I haven't had a chance to try the new one yet. Try the one that came on the software CD with your mobo...
At least one of the outlets in the room could be on a separate circuit. If not, I'd make it so. You can test by tripping the breaker to your room then first test each outlet to be sure it is dead.- if you switched the breaker off than any outlet that's still live would be on a separate circuit...
Cleaner wiring and simpler configuration (generally only one or no jumpers) - that's about it. NCQ slows things down for a single user. The transfer rate of the current physical design of the drives doesn't come near the available bandwidth of even PATA not to mention SATA 150. Even the...
Then a reliable brand replacement battery will be the way to go and while you are in there, replace the MOVs too as they go bad over time. MOVs are supposed to fail in Open mode, but I've seen them fail in Short mode - NOT GOOD!

I use a Sangean RCR-22:
http://www.sangean.com/product.php?model=RCR-22&prod_id=39 - It has dual alarms - auto setting and periodic syncing with the Atomic Time Standard. Humane alarm buzzer starts out on low volume and eventually ramps to full - you can set upper limit with a control on the...
Big price range between cheap Chinese replacement batteries and top brand like Panasonic or Yuasa. Remind me now, why did you buy a UPS in the first place?.. ;)

Newegg is good for those who know what they are doing and do their homework. Hard to find decent customer service anywhere. With the Egg, if it's other than an RMA, you're SOL... I've recently bought from Provantage, TechOnWeb, CostCentral, Performance-PCs and others with good results. But I...
