Hey NP. Let me know how it works out. I am thinking of throwing a quad on my board and 2 more sticks of ram and handing it off to the kids when i get my knew rig.
I am just waiting to see what bulldozer and lga 2011 bring to the table b4 I upgrade. Sandybridge is looking awfully tempting...
Hi. I would start by lowering your memory to 266 in bios then going in a changing the timings to 5-5-5-18. Then lower your memory voltage to 2.0v. doing this will take the memory out of the equation when trying to raise the FSB.
You will need to raise the northbridge voltage also since you...
The PC is for the wife and kids mostly, gaming for the kids on a 1680 x 1050 monitor and web surfing and junk for the wife. I have to say the 5750 does ok at this resolution but yeah I would have liked to get a better video card but i had a budget. I went with this setup so i can convert video...
I think I got it figured out.
I was setting voltage manually and CnQ and PhenomMsrTweaker would not lower voltage when they down clocked.
I went and used the cpu voltage offset instead of manual and now it works like it should.
I believe I set it up right because I disable CnQ and it would down clock.
I have the latest bios.
I guess I will keep messing with it and see if I can get it to work.
Another question - cpuz shows voltage of 1.392 to 1.404 during load. AOD shows max cpu voltage as 1.8v . I sure hope...
I have tried PhenomMsrTweaker and it will not work like CnQ. The voltage will not lower no matter what I try unless I leave cpu voltage on auto,
I don't know if its my motherboard or the program but if I set cpu voltage to 1.35 in bios thats where it stays even if it down clocks to 900 mhz...
I just built a new AMD PC and had a few questions about my temps and voltage.

I would think that you would need at least a 360 radiator and some good fans. Thats almost 500 watts of heat, if you oc the 5890 to 5870 speeds it will be over 500 watts.
Im not sure all those watts will end up as heat in a loop but it would be darn close.
I think the res will be fine but...
I really doubt what order you do it will have much affect on temps. I thought it to be true, but someone with more knowledge than me stated otherwise, javisaman I believe. Your system will reach a state of equilibrium no matter what the order is. I would set it up in the order thatn works out...
If you want to add a radiator in the drive bay this is always a good option.

You would need 3 of these also. Or get the silver ones if your case is silver...
I was thinking of buying a PHII and a 790GX motherboard for a new system. The reason being for low cost, good performance plus the integrated graphics ment no need to spend the extra on a graphics card.
Motherboard DFI 790 GX $ 144.99
CPU if the same as current Phenoms $...
Some numbers with no screen shots to validate them so......flame on boys. I've got my fire extinguisher handy.

I feel underwhelmed but I'm still interested.
I found this for comarison and I use that term lightly...
I always liked using rthdribl. I don't think it is supported with SLI or Crossfire though. It seemed to really stress things and get to maximum heat output more than anything else I tried.
