Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Im not exactly sure at what point I should install them. Is it somewhere in the BIOS, or Windows? The CD that came with the card wont work under Windows 7 (nothing will start).
no i have it set to balanced.
Didnt touch the firmware, and I didnt install any driver... Im not booting from it... so i just plugged it in, and it worked.
Enabled the write cache... made things a little better.... but still, sustained copying is about 25-30MB/s.
Downloading torrents to the drive is almost impossible, when its downloading at anything faster than 2MB/s (im on a 100mbit connection), its not able to write fast enough, the memory...
I finally got around to installing the 3ware raid card, with 4 x 1.5TB drives, which I put in RAID5 (64KB).
As soon as I start Windows (running Windows 7 64bit) Im getting 80-100MB/s according to HD Tune, which is worse than my ICH10 RAID5 array on the mobo. But the situation gets worse over...
Whats the performance like of ICH10R with SSDs? Can I run 2 SSDs in RAID0 off ICH10r and 4 drives RAID5 off a dedicated raid card.... or will I achieve better performance with an 8 port raid card, handling both arrays?
Was using my computer normally... all of a sudden the video froze, and it blue screened (im on Windows 7).
I turn off the power.... turn it back on. It starts booting, and before anything even appears on the screen, it shuts off. On the mobo, the green, yellow, red lights are all lit.

I currently have an Asus Forumla... which died (for the 2nd time). I used the onboard chipset for a RAID5 array with data on it.
If I upgrade to X58 chipset i7 mobo.... will I be able to access the array?
Areca is x8, and I cant find an i7 mobo that has 2 x16 (for video cards), and a x8.
What if I ran the RAID0 with the mobo RAID controller... and the RAID5 with the card? Will there be a significant performance difference?
Ive had a hard time finding anything that will fit 2 large video cards and leave an unblocked x4 or x8 slot for a RAID card.
Can you guys suggest something?
Im thinking of buying the 3ware 9650SE-4LPML RAID card, which has 4 multilane connectors.
What does this mean? It supports 4 drives? or I can have mulitple drives on each connector (8 in total for example).
Reason I ask is, I would like to run 2 SSD drives in RAID0 for OS, and then 4...
I currently have a RAID5 array of 4 drives, and a separate raptor I use for the OS. I wanna replace the raptor with 2 128GB SSDs, and run them in RAID0. Can I have a raid0 and raid5 array at the same time with the mobo raid controller?
