Hi Guys,
Networking is the part of tech where I'm the least literate so please excuse the basic questions.
Is a PCIe wireless adapter better than a USB one? I'm told that it is, and my guess would be due to better reception with the antenna, but there are also USB adapters with antennae. Are...
Thanks for the tip, I looked around. Couldn't determine if it's a dangerous problem to have or just inconvenient? Will MSI's RMA department replace it?
I recently bought an MSI GTX 970 and it has started to make a very strange high pitched noise when GPU Usage climbs up. It starts immediately with the GPU Usage climb and is unrelated to the spinning of the fans. GPU voltage is a trailing indicator of the noise, obviously it's related to GPU...
I bought a Corsair CX600M semi-modular PSU (Link) and although it was supposed to include PCIe power connectors for my video card, it did not have it (Image of missing cable). Before I contact Newegg/Corsair and wait a lifetime and a half for them to ship it, I wanted to explore other options...
Hi guys, I just built a PC with a Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI and everything's been going great but one of the motherboard temp reading on SpeedFan is showing 127*C. I'm wondering if it could be a misreading or an error, or if I did something to mess up the installation.
If I am at fault, any ideas...
The motherboard uses a Killer NIC and I'm wondering if it has wireless capability. It's listed as just a LAN chip with no mention of wireless. Ethernet is not an option in my home, so networking has to be wireless.
Thanks for the input, I'll keep those cases in mind. They're actually listed at $50 and $80, respectively, for me on Amazon. Can you tell me what makes the 230T so much better than the other cases? Is it the durability, cooling capacity, ease of build, etc?
Brilliant, thanks! I'll either be going with the HAF 912 or the Thermaltake Commander. I know the HAF has an amazing reputation but I think my brother (who I'm building the system for) would enjoy the side window. Do you know if the Thermaltake case is quality? I usually try to crowdsource good...
I haven't built a PC in years so this might be a silly question, but I'm wondering if a GTX 970 will fit inside most mid-ATX cases. Do you guys have any recommendations for good sub-$100 cases that would fit one of these giant video cards, or do I need to be looking at full ATX towers?
Thanks for the responses guys. What concerns me is the load power consumption, which on a single stock GTX 980 is pushing 300 Watts. I imagine the GTX 970 isn't too far behind, especially when overclocked. I realize the rest of the system isn't very power-intensive, but it still makes me...
