Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
This forum is the last bastion for CRT displays.
I hope these answers clears it out: in 2026, we have 1000hz monitors with true under 1ms response time, many times going to 0.1 or 0.01ms.
There is ZERO need for CRT anymore.
For monitors, because of your close range, even in a pitch black room you will see significant reflection of your head/body on a glossy screen. Just from the light that the monitor generates.
Even on a light matte screen I had to turn low or cover some lights coming from the keyboard, it was...
Being afraid to fully jump in the water, I used Xeneon Flex(the adjustable flat/curved one), for a few years. After experimenting for a few days, I realized curved is WAY better. Never went back to flat.
The curved monitors are not a fad, the benefits are great.
Choose your curve based on your...
Does anyone know what is the difference between 900D and the new 900F?
https://www.samsung.com/us/tvs/neo-qled/65-class-neo-qled-8k-tv-qn900f-sku-qn65qn900ffxza/
I see claims they added some matte filter, and the max frequency is 4k@165hz - maybe a real one this time compared to the fake...
I agree on this, after experiencing OLED I could never go back to LCD/VA.
The colors, the contrast, the speed. The whole visual difference in games is massive, everything pops out!
Two years ago I bought the CORSAIR XENEON FLEX 45 with adjustable flat to 800R curvature because I was scared about the curve and I didn't want to commit to it.
I can confirm that in a few days I got used to the curve, and I never used it flat at all. Useless feature for me.
And the funny part...
Depending how much overhead you are accounting for, 5K2K 240hz HDR is either a hair below DP1.4 with DSC or above.
DP1.4: 32.4 Gbps theoretical
5120 x 2160 = 11,059,200 pixels
HDR 10 bit per channel = 30 bits per pixel
11,059,200 pixels x 240 hz x 30 bits = 79.62 Gbps
If you account for 1.25x...
I suspect the reason they went with 165hz is because the 240hz one cannot handle the bandwidth without DP2.1, even with DSC.
So unless you plan to buy the just announced Nvidia 5xxx(or some of the AMD stuff that is for professional work), you might not be able to use it. That makes it a very...
I'm really looking forward in 2025 to the new RGWB subpixel layout from LG Display. Probably CES 2025 will announce an army of these panels. You can see WOLED and QD-OLED displays going on sale like mad - everyone is dumping their stock, a big change is about to happen.
OLED contrast, colors...
Is this monitor able to do 3440 x 1440 resolution at 240hz with 10bit(HDR), 4:4:4 Chroma over HDMI 2.1 without using DSC?
If my guess is correct the required bandwidth for that is close: 41.5 of max 42 Gbit/s. Maybe the overhead would throw it out of range.
Yes, of course I meant color temperature. I fixed it.
None of the websites had it in stock in my country, I made a special order and they ordered it from a higher layer distributor. The wait was not that bad thou, only waited for it about a week. This is in Europe and I paid 842 EUR for it - ouch.
I bought a PG279Q a week ago, here is my experience with it so far:
No dead pixels, no dust, no uniformity issues.
Default factory calibration had too cool color temperature, around 7200.
The brightness is insanely high, and the default brightness of 80 is simply blinding.
Spyder sensor...
