    Raijintek Styx mATX

It's a larger version of the Metis, for mATX. Didn't see a thread on here or much in search hits so thought I'd make a thread. http://www.raijintek.com/en/products_detail.php?ProductID=26 http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/cases/2015/09/23/raijintek-styx-review/1 Anyone have one...

    Silverstone Sugo SG13 Mini-ITX

I just noticed these are on Newegg now... But I also noticed the mATX SG11 which (to me) just came out of nowhere! I didn't even know that was planned--no idea how I missed that. Was in the market for an mATX case too but already bought a Bitfenix Pandora. If I'd known the SG11 was coming I...

Huh? The filter is clearly shown in image #8.

    Gigabyte GA-Z97N-Gaming 5

Because the "6 phases" aren't all for CPU. It's more like 4+2 phase. The other two are most likely for RAM and PCH. Still better than a most ASRock boards where they have 3 phase on the CPU--eck. Also note that with Haswell CPUs the board VRM is less important given the CPU has it's own VRM.

Cheap Build Thread - Come Contribute

^This. However I would go for a minimum 400W supply, as I know what an R9 280 can spike to momentarily, esp. if running over 1Ghz. Of course there many 400W supplies anyway, so you're probably looking at 450W. The thing about the Thermaltake is it's cheap as dirt. Well there's that and the...

    M600 Case - A Mini Steambox?

Actually...that too. The cards are dual width these days, even when they don't need to be. 75W and lower cards can easily be made with single-slot coolers but these days that seems like it's not done. As you note a 750Ti is almost always dual-slot cooler, there's like one that exists that is...

    Gigabyte GA-Z97N-Gaming 5

The funny part is, about a few years ago I was reading an interview with one of the Gigabyte guys (think it was on Tom's Hardware) and they asked him why the green colours on the Sniper boards. He replied saying something like, "well everyone else is doing red and black so we've taken a...

    M600 Case - A Mini Steambox?

You mean breathe :P But yeah at first I thought, "80mm fans are a bit ghetto, and will be loud if you want to move air through it." Then I realised...they're not 80mm fans, they're 60mm fans! Even worse! LOL. Also, personally, I don't see the point of having a "full-height, dual-width"...

Shorter or right-angled *internal* USB connectors?

Ahh, I see. Okay I'll give that a shot--see if that works! If it does it'll at least tide me over until I get the USB 3.0 ports for my case.

Shorter or right-angled *internal* USB connectors?

That would actually work...if it were available as USB 2.0 and Firewire as well. I don't get why no such thing is made/on the market. I mean even all the China sellers on eBay that sell every kind of adapter, connector, cable you can think of, don't have something like this :confused...

Shorter or right-angled *internal* USB connectors?

Posted this on another forum as well...hope there are some ideas about this. I'm sure everyone here is familiar with cramming a lot of stuff into a small space, so I think ppl have to have run into this same issue before... Basically on my mATX board having a 2nd graphics card installed in...

Question about Lynnfield IMC limitations (4 DIMMs)?

I recently acquired up a Xeon X3460 (essentially the same as an i7-860). It's a Lynnfield processor (I know not cutting edge lol but picking up parts on the cheap) and I was wondering about the memory controller limitations which I think I've come across on my own... (Sorry this turned out as a...

    Advice on mATX gaming build?

I can't think of one, nope ;) Go used. Saw a [Gigabyte] G1.Sniper M3 go for less than $60 (around $70 shipped) on eBay a day or two ago. You can get a [Asus] Maximus Gene IV refurb on eBay right now for $100 as well (seller has a few left but just the bare board, no accessories) but used...

    Advice on mATX gaming build?

R9 290X is only that price because of the release of the GTX 970 and 980. The 970 trades blows with the 290X while consuming much less power and, accordingly, producing less heat. Only problem with the 970s thus far have been supply--hasn't been easy to get one and if you can it hasn't been at...

    Neutron Mini PC on Kickstarter

No there's lots of scams on Kickstarter otherwise... What I'm wondering is, if this is even actually a real product that will ship? If it does it's not a scam per se, no; but, it's still a rip-off. If the creators suddenly disappear, that's another story. Personally I think the way the...
