Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I recently installed my old ATI 9800 pro card in my HTPC. This has increased my noise level substantially. What would you recommend as a replacement fan/heatsink to keep the noise down as much as possible?
I have an htpc that I've built. I am using a Panasonic PT-L500U projector with it. Everything works fine with the projector and video card display, except that it doesn't display the POST menu and will not project anything in safe mode. I am using a modded 9500pro and I using the DVI...
I'm gonna replace my current motherboard (Asus A7V8X) and processor (AMD XP 2200+ T-Bred). I would like to get the best performance increase for the buck. I would also like to use a chipset other than VIA. I am looking to spend around 200 bucks total for a new motherboard and CPU. I'll be...
Yeah, I figured that I would have to get some of the onboard stuff with the board I chose. I basically stated that I didn't need the onboard stuff because I won't be using it anyway. Is there any difference between the nforce 2 chips besides the extra onboard features?
Here's what I need, a non-VIA motherboard that will support a T-Bred XP and a Barton XP chip. I want the fastest board available. I don't want or need on-board sound, on-board NIC or anything else. I would like Dual Channel RAM capability as well and also front USB 2.0 compatibility...
I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to computer audio. I have an HTPC that I run a coax SPDIF connection from my onboard soundcard (Via 8235) to my logitech 5500 speakers. Everything works okay for the most part, but I'm still pretty confused about a lot of the concepts behind digital/analog...
If you're looking for cheap, buy another NIC like you suggested. If you want to be cheap and lazy, buy a USB NIC. The performance hit having another PCI NIC installed is not that much. The performance hit on a USB NIC is more, but if you have a decent machine, it shouldn't be a big deal.
I have had the same exact problem with the newer CATs. I uninstalled the drivers and control panel (CAT 4.2's), restarted, installed the CAT 3.5's and haven't had a problem since. I have seen many others have the exact same problem.
I don't have anything else near the monitors. The problem occurs whether or not one or two of the monitors are turned on. The Dell monitor that I primarily use (P1130 21" CRT) is only about two months old. Thanks for the suggestions, keep 'em coming.
I forgot to say that I have tried in different rooms in the house (both upstairs and downstairs), but I still have the problems. What really puzzles me is that there is no problem at all when installed the Nvidia card.
