Would love to, but doesn't that leave me out a PC since I'd have to send both sticks in? And I don't have the original packaging, that went in the trash months ago. Also, the place I bought it from doesn't have them in stock anymore (outpost.com).
Yup, I seem to have no luck with memory. This is the second bad set in a year. I purchased a 2GB Mushkin kit (2x1GB, DDR500) 5 months ago and now a stick is shot. World of Warcraft started crashing like a mofo last night, along with blue screens. This morning the PC barely booted up, and WoW...
My mobo (gigabyte) hates 4 sticks of dual channel ram. I've ordered 1 2x1GB kit, so I have these for sale, it's two sets of 2x512MB dual channel Corsair XMS Pro DDR400 (2-3-3-8). One set is only a month old, the other is a few months. Thinking $85 shipped per set sounds fair?
Well I'm not looking for just "any" set. I'm looking for a good set of memory. I'm sick and tired of my desktop crashing because it doesn't like my memory configuration.
Don't worry Eclipse, I'm not "some kid" lol And thank you all for your replies, I'll look into the suggestions when I get home. More than welcome to look at more as well!
Eh, it looks like my board will not run with my 4x512MB corsair sticks, so it's time to buy some new ram. What are your recommendations for some fast 2x1GB memory? This is mainly for gaming so low latency and fast timings are a plus, stability would be great too lol. I've been looking around and...
Ugh, I fail yet again. No matter what timings I try with 4 sticks it only runs for so long. Two run stable most of the time. I've run memtest on the sticks before and both sets tested fine (though on one test gave zillions of errors when I had 4 sticks... then no errors at all when I ran them...
Hey again...
So some screen shots. Current timing settings:
Now this is the new memory (2x512 kit):
This is the older model (2x512 kit as well):
I had trouble running stable last night so I pulled the older ram, and ran at 2-3-3-8, with very tight bus timings, and running at...
7800gt here, 1280x1024, 4xAA, full anti-whatever filtering, full on every setting available and 60fps (vsync limited, had fps as high as 75 when i turned it off, but lcd @ 60hz == a bit of tearing) most of the time, holding around 45fps when I'm wandering around (most likely network lag)
The revisions are weird... don't have the exact #'s, but the originals I got show up CpuID with only one memory timing... for 200mhz, with 2-3-3-8 as the timing. Well the newer revision has timings listed for 133mhz and 166mhz (not sure what they are at the moment.. at work, but 200mhz is also...
Well I bumped vdimm +.1 and have the memory at ddr333, 2.5-3-3-8 and it seems to have held out a full day of WoW last night. 139/140ms (largest value in the cpuZ latency test). I've got my fingers crossed it keeps running stable.
So I've pretty much got this down to a memory timing issue... the problem is this... I have 4x 512MB sticks of Corsair XMS memory. Both were purchased at the same store as 1GB kits, but at different times so I got a slightly different revision with the second set, but they are both pretty much...
